A Winter Wonderland tri-fold

Welcome to the November 1 Reveal from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  This month we are featuring two new stamp sets: A Winter Wonderland and Flourishes Two (#520).  Both of these sets are available at 20% off at the SNS on-line store.  Just use the code WINTRY20 in the COMMENTS SECTION when checking out.  Promotion is valid until Nov. 3 (sorry, credit card customers only).   A Winter Wonderland rubber stamp set is also the new stamp set that's part of the Video Club of the month, featuring a video how-to from Jazzy Jill.  Want to join the club?  Then just click here.

You also have two chances of winning the A Winter Wonderland set.  The first is with our "Winter Wonderland" Release contest and the second chance is by participating in the SNS Monthly Challenge (where the theme is always "Anything Goes with Glitter, Embossing Powder, and/or Flocking").

We're kicking things off with out 3rd Mystery Designer Party.  There will be two prizes.  One person will receive the A Winterwonderland stamp set, an embossing powder, and one glitter.  A second commenter will receive the Flourishes Two stamp set, one embossing powder, and one glitter.  A Commenter will be selected to receive the winning prize from two of the blogs listed below.

Snow One knows who the Mystery Designer is, so you'll want to visit each blog to leave a comment.  The winners will be announced on Nov 3 on the SNS blog, Facebook, and on each of our blogs:

Now on to my project.  I decided to create a tri-fold card with this stamp.  It sounds a little complicated, but it was pretty easy.  The hardest part was waiting for the glue to dry so I could move onto the next section.  (Patience isn't one of my virtues :-).)

To start off, stamp the image in the center of a 5"x 11" piece of cardstock.  You can cut off the excess from the top and bottom once you've stamped the image.  Stamp the image again so you can fussy cut out the deer and tree from the left side of the image and the cardinal and tree cluster on the right side.

Score the main image on each side of the image.  Place the deer/tree fussy cut out on the left side of the score line.  Lightly draw a line around the image and fussy cut out.  Repeat the process on the right side with the cardinal/trees.

Flip the entire card over (so the center panel with the stamped image is facing downward) and adhere the fussy cut pieces to the proper panels.

Now it's time to decorate.  I used Copics to add color to the trees, cardinal, sky and bunny.  Amber Wheat and Dark Chocolate flock were used to add color to the deer body and Snow White flock was added to the deer's tail, as well as the bunny tail.

I used the new Diamond Dust chunky glitter to cover most of the snow on the trees and ground and Cloud Nine Velvet glitter on the cluster of trees in the center of the image.  I repeated the process on the left and right panels as well.
Finally, a belly band was created to keep the card closed.  My sentiment was stamped onto a Spellbinders Grommet Tag and was heat embossed with White Detail embossing powder.  You can also view the directions to this project in my SNS Art Gallery, here.

Now it's time to head on over to see what fabulous creation Donna has in store for you.  I know you won't be disappointed.  Be sure to visit each of the SNS Designers and leave a comment for your chance to win this gorgeous rubber stamp set.

Memories

The Memories die is just one of the new Sweet Wordlets from Die-Versions this month.  These are a prefect size for this mini-album page.

I cut the sentiment out of the photo itself, so it has the same glossy finish as the photos.  Inka Gold metallic paints were used to cover the mini-album base and I used scraps for the pages.

Beautiful You

Sweet Wordlets from Die-Versions are so versatile.  For this mini-album page, I combined two of the sets: Beautiful and the "You" from Miss You.

The photo is a bit blurry because it's 50 years old :-).  After seeing this photo, I now know why it took almost two years before my son had any hair - he takes after his mom.  I was 15 months old in this photo, and as you can see had very little hair.

The background is wood and was painted with Viva Decor's Inka Gold metallic paints.  Love the shimmery look they have in person.

Miss You

Die-Versions latest release, Sweet Wordlets, is all about words you can use on cards, layouts, or just about anything.  (I have to confess that I thought these were ok/cute when I saw photos, but once you use actually see them and use them, you'll realize they are a perfect size.)

This is a really quick note card I made with the Miss You die.  It measures approximately 4.5" x 3.5" - so fairly small.  Love how the words are cut separate, so you can mix and match (you'll see this on another post).   The bird is an element sticker from the Echo Park For the Record collection.  I've also created a box around the focal point using a Spica glitter pen for a touch of shimmer.

So go check out these new word dies.  I think you'll like them as much as I do.  Now to collect the rest of the set.....

Sweet Wordlets

Die-Versions has a new release today called "Sweet Wordlets".  There are 26 cute little word dies which are only 0.40"tall and will be perfect for all you card makers.

There's also a much requested "Angel Wing" that coordinates with the Sweet Spots.  No more guessing when creating a mat or background to layer these dies with.

Head on over to Die-Versions now to see all the words (clearly) and how versatile they are.  You can even mix and match to create your own sentiment.

Short Break

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let y'all know that I won't be posting as much this month.  We just moved and I'm still organizing and trying to find homes for everything.

Thanks for following my blog and continuing to check back here.  Everything should be back in full swing by November.
