Baby Boy {Scrapy Land Challenge # 41}

It's the first Wednesday of the month and you know what that means.....time for a new Scrapy Land Challenge!  Today's challenge theme is Anything Goes using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.  Easy, peasy since they have over 40 different brands to choose from!

For my card today, my Baby Boy card uses a number of dies:

Die-Namites: Baby Border
  Die-Versions: Sweet Wordlet Baby
Die-Versions: Sweet Wordlet It's A Boy  Girl
Sue Wilson Designs: Spanish Collection - Cordoba
Spellbinders: Scalloped Oval small
Marianne Design: COL1313 - Bassinet and coordinating stamp set  (special promotion die purchase)

Watercolors were used to create the background for the front panel.  Once this was dry, I used the Die-Cut Inlay technique to add the Baby Border from Die-Namites.  To achieve this look, you die cut the main panel, making sure to save all of the negative pieces, and then die cut the image again from a different color cardstock.  Insert the second die cut into the base panel and then adhere the negative pieces, like a puzzle piece.  This is what it should look like once you have completed your piece.

I then created a frame using the Sue Wilson Designs die and cut out my sentiment from the two Sweet Wordlets dies by Die-Versions.

From time to time Scrapy Land has special promotions where you can order dies from European companies (Marianne Design, Joy Crafts, and others).  During one of these special promotions is when I purchased the Marianne Design Bassinet and coordinating stamp set (baby boy).

I die cut the bassinet twice so that I could insert the ivory striped paper to look like bedding.  Both the bassinet top and base were heat embossed with By the Lake embossing powder.  Ribbon was also threaded through the small openings along the top of the bassinet.  A Spellbinders die (small scalloped oval) was used to die cut the patterned paper behind the bassinet.  The stamped sentiment to the left of the bassinet was also heat set, using Clear embossing powder.  Unfortunately, I don't know the manufacturer of this baby sentiment.

You'll have until Sunday, May 15th to upload your project.  It would be really helpful to all the Designers if you list the dies that you use on your project.  The winner, chosen by the Design Team, will receive a $15 gift certificate to go shopping at Scrapy Land.  Be sure to visit the Scrapy Land Challenge Blog to see the amazing projects created by the rest of team too - you won't be disappointed.
