Flower Sihouettes

Today's card showcases the Flower Silhouettes stamp set from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  To start out, I created the background first by using a stipple brush and randomly applying four different colors of Nuvo Embellishment Mousse (Spring Green, Pure Platinum, Lemon Sorbet, and Lilac Lavender) to white cardstock.  Using a stipple brush gives a rough texture to the background of this mixed media card.

Once I was happy with the pastel background, I stamped the image with VersaMark and heat set it with Black Detail embossing powder. Then I added adhesive to the leaves with a Nuvo Glue Pen (small tip) and covered it with Spirited Green glitter.  Glue was also added to the butterflies and some of the flower parts and were covered with Sunny Daze glitter.  Purple Dust glitter was also used in a couple of the flowers.

The centers of the flowers were given added dimension by applying Nuvo Crystal Drops (Crushed Grape, English Mustard, and Orange Soda).  I also outlined one of the flower heads with Crushed Grape and pulled a pin through the wet liquid to create a pattern (instead of drops).

The sentiment, one of several that come with the stamp set, was heat embossed using White Detail embossing powder.  As finishing touches, the Elegant Border die cut (from Die-Versions), was added to the top and several small butterflies from the Memory Box (Butterfly Delights) die cut were added near the sentiment.
