Winter Stream

When I saw Winter Stream from Sparkle N Sprinkle, I thought it would make a great tag....maybe for a larger present under the tree  :-).

I started off by stamping the image with Archival Ink (Coffee) onto watercolor paper and then I colored it with Distress Markers and a water brush.  It's a little hard to distinguish in the photo, but I used Waterscape glitter on all the icicles in the image, Waterfall glitter on the ripples in the water, and Sparkling Snow glitter on all the snow mounds.  I also adhered the Sparkling Snow glitter differently.  For the other glitters, I added glue using a Sakura glue pen.  For the snow mounds, however, I first colored them with an Opaque Paint Markers (Elmer's) and then immediately covered the wet paint with the Sparkling Snow glitter - and it stuck as the paint dried.  (That was a happy experiment that was successful and a "good-to-know" for the future.)

The dimensional icicles adhered to the top of the tag are actually a Christmas tree garland that I picked up in an after Christmas sale last year, thinking they might be perfect for one of my projects.  I just cut the individual icicles apart and adhered them with 1/2" Tear-ific Tape.  I also sprinkled some Waterscape glitter over the exposed adhesive, thereby eliminating any excess stickiness and giving a touch more sparkle.

I wanted to add a little something more to the image, so I die cut my Reindeer (from Die-Versions) from 2 1/2" Tear-ific tape and cardstock.  After exposing the adhesive in sections, I added Amber Wheat flock to his antlers and hooves, a bit of Snow White flock to his tail and his chest, and the rest of his body is covered with Dark Chocolate flock.  The reindeer is adhered to the tag with a thick dimensional dot and he's "standing" on some Tinsel Twine from Tim Holtz.
