Gaggle of Geese {Lavinia World #16}

Hey everyone, here is my latest project for the Lavinia World Challenges #16.

I used the following stamps from Lavinia World on my card:

For this card, I started out by die cutting my background with a Tonic Studios die set (Ribbon and Bow Layering Set) from white cardstock and then blending in Distress Inks and Oxides until I was happy with the colors.

Using a stamp positioner, I stamped the Gaggle of Geese first as I knew I wanted to mask them in order to have the Spring Trees behind them.  I also did something a little different.  The first time I stamped the geese, I used VersaMark and then sprinkled white embossing powder over parts of the image, trying to stay mainly around their heads and then having a few sprinkles along their bodies.  I heat set the embossing powder and placed the cardstock back into the stamp positioner.  Then, cleaning the stamp, I stamped the geese again using VersaFine Clair (Nocturne).  The Ducks were also stamped with Nocturne.

I created a mask of the Geese from scrap paper, fussy cut it out and placed it on top the the main Gaggle of Geese.  Leaving the mask in place, I stamped the Spring Trees with VersaFine Clair (Pine Cone).

I really wanted a Fall card, so I randomly stamped the Foliage with Distress Inks among some of the branches and along the bottom of the tree trunks.  I added some Nuvo Confetti (Chestnut Brown Flakes) onto some of the leaves as well.

I created some glitter ribbon to layer behind my matted focal point and then added a couple more layers to finish up.

Trees in Snow {Scrapy Land #128}

Hey everyone, it's time for a new Scrapy Land Challenge #128.  I have one more Christmas card to share with you today.  The theme is always Anything Goes using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells (hint: there are over 55 brands, so more than likely you have a few of these brand in your stash 😀).

The following dies were used to create my card:

Dee's Distinctively: Christmas Tree Silhouette (these would also work)
Dee's Distinctively: Christmas Tree #3 (this Frantic Stamper set would work really well)
Sizzix: Swirling Stars (this Sue Wilson die would work well)
Sizzix: Tim Holtz Holiday Words Script
Paper Smooches: Stitched (these would also work)

The tree silhouettes were die cut from mirrored cardstock and the overlays were die cut from matte mirrored cardstock.  The center tree has been pop dotted for added interest.

I die cut the snowy hill from embossed white specialty paper.  Since this Paper Smooches die only adds the stitching of a hill, I snipped off the top part with a pair of scissors.

Blue glittered cardstock was used for the sky and bright yellow glittered cardstock was added to the back to make the stars pop.

The sentiment was die cut from mirrored silver cardstock.

I have to say, the photos really don't do this card justice.  It is pretty impressive in person and is one of my favorites that I have created this year.  If you omit the sentiment, it would also look nice for a wintery decoration.

Now it's your turn to join us for the Scrapy Land Challenge #128, which ends on Dec 29.  The winner of the challenge will receive a $15 gift certificate to Scrapy Land and is chosen by random.org.  The Designers choose the Top Three and Honorable Mention categories.

Until next time......

Birthday Girls {Jan's Digi Shop}

Hey everyone, welcome to Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges #4.  I have a new project featuring two digi stamp sets from Jan's Digi Shop.  I combined images from both the New Year's Eve (3231J) and Disco Friends (774J) for this fun birthday card!

I love creating projects with Eunice and Gertrude - they are so much fun!!  You can find more of these two fun-loving girls when you click on their names under "Filter by Occasion" (the left side bar in Jan's Digi Shop.)

I used a Sizzix die (Balloons Step-Up) to create this fun fold card.  My focal point and the sentiment, which is a combination of sentiments included in the set, were colored with Copics.  I added Glossy Accents on top of the sentiment for a very shiny look.  Glossy Accents was also added to the belt and their glasses.  The balloons on the right side of the step up are part of the Sizzix die set, while the balloons behind these two are part of the New Year's Eve digi set.  Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers give them added visual interest.

Now it's your turn to come play with us.  Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges will be held the first and third Monday of every month.  Winners will be chosen randomly and will have two weeks to collect their prize.  (All the details are under the Challenge Guidelines tab at the top of the Challenge Blog page.)

Scrapper's Delights - Anime Xmas Wreath and Chibi VIP Deal Capricorn

Hey everyone, today Scrapper's Delights is combining the Anime New Release and VIP Deal, which is normally the last Friday of the month, with the Chibi New Release and VIP Deal, which is the first Friday of the month.  This special event is so that we can all enjoy the holidays without feeling stressed to get things done at the last minute.  This gives you time to create a few more cards or projects using both of these New Releases 😀.

First up, I'd like to share my Anime New Release.  There are three new images (Anime Xmas Stocking, Anime Xmas Tree, Anime Xmas Wreath) plus the VIP Deal.  The best deal is to get the VIP Deal as you'll receive all three of the new Anime images as well as the Zodiac image and tons of elements.

I used the Anime Xmas Wreath image and colored her with Copic markers.  One of the things I really like about these digi sets is that one of the .pngs is in an outline form.  So, if you want to add patterned paper for clothing, for example, it's really easy to do.  That's exactly what I did for her top.  I layered the outline image on top of the digital paper, angled it in the pattern I wanted, then printed it out.  After it printed, I fussy cut out the top and paper pieced it on top of main card that I printed.
All of the patterned papers and frames are digital.  Even though it looks as if it has some dimension, it's flat for easy mailing!

I also colored the wreath with Copics and added Nuvo Crystal Drops for the ornaments. Sparkle was added to the bow and ribbon using Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers

My sentiment is a Die-Versions Sweet Sentiment die that was die cut from a scrap of white cardstock and colored using the same Copic marker as the ornaments.

Now for my Chibi VIP Deal card.  There are also three new Chibi images being released today and the VIP Deal.  The Zodiac VIP Bundle Deal is definitely the best way to go.

I used a number of elements from the Chibi Zodiac VIP Deal set to create today's card, including the oval, the seaweed, the date banner, and the cute little critters in the lower left .

I started out by positioning the image and the elements where I wanted them, then I layers a couple different patterned papers behind the scene I created and printed it out.  I printed the two little guys separate from the main focal point and fussy cut them out.

Copics were used to color the images.  Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers give added sparkle throughout the card.

I fussy cut out the focal image and then layered it onto patterned paper and created my frame with a Sue Wilson Designs die set (Noble dies-Double Pierced Rectangles Set B) and dark blue cardstock.

After everything was adhered to my card base, I added the two little guys in the lower left corner with dimensional tape.

Scrapper's Delights will be starting the New Year with brand new images and other fun things that are still under wraps for the moment.  I'll be back with another Scrapper's Delights project using one of the Chibi New Releases on Friday, January 3.

Until next time........

Bria Rose {Lavinia World #15}

Hey everyone, today I'd like to share my latest project for the Lavinia World Challenges #15.  I used the following stamps from Lavinia World on my card:

Bria Rose

Willow Arch

To start out, I stamped the Willow Arch three times with VersaFine Clair (Nocturne) to create a wreath shape and then added color using Copic markers.  Using my Scan N Cut, I cut out the shape.

Next, Distress Oxides (Seedless Grape, Festive Berries, Spun Sugar) were blended together to create the background for Bria Rose.  I also added a little sparkle to the background with a homemade gold spritz.

After letting this dry, I then used VersaFine Clair Chianti to stamp the image.  I added lots of glitz with Spectrum Moir Sparkle markers: Clear for the wings, Harvest Moon for the flower, Inspired Violet for her body.

A Gina K stencil and more Distress Oxides were used to create my card front.  I then used dimensional tape to pop dot the focal point on top of the card front.

The sentiment is from a Sizzix die set (Tim Holtz Holiday Words Script) and was cut from multicolored cardstock.

Winter Wonderland {Scrapy Land #127}

Welcome to Scrapy Land Challenge #127!  I have a pretty quick and easy Christmas card to share with you today. The theme is always Anything Goes using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells (hint: there are over 55 brands, so more than likely you have a few of these brand in your stash 😀).

The following dies were used to create my card:

Sue Wilson Designs: Festive Collection-Snowflake Background (these would also work well)
Sizzix: Tim Holtz Holiday Words Script

I stared out by die cutting the Snowflake Background from Gold embossed cardstock, leaving the center oval intact.  Next, using the smallest oval that came in the set (or any oval you have on hand), I die cut white cardstock and then stamped my tree.  This is a Hero Arts stamp set (Color Layered Christmas Tree) and it was stamped with Distress Oxides (Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn, Lucky Clover, Pine Needles).  Once this was completed, I decided it was a little too bright for what I had in mind.  So using the next smallest oval, I die cut a piece of vellum and adhered it on top of my tree.  The Christmas tree was then adhered to the center of my Snowflake Background.

A piece of glitter cardstock was used for the card base and the sentiment die cuts.  As I said, pretty quick and easy.  This would be an easy design to mass produce. 😀

Now it's your turn to join us for the Scrapy Land Challenge #127, which ends on Dec 15.  The winner of the challenge will receive a $15 gift certificate to Scrapy Land and is chosen by random.org.  The Designers choose the Top Three and Honorable Mention categories.

Roaring 2020 {Jan's Digi Shop}

Hey everyone, welcome to Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges #3.  I have a new project featuring two new digi stamp sets from Jan's Digi Shop.  I combined images from both the Happy New Year (3230J) and New Year's Eve (3231J)

I combined a number of the pre-colored images from both sets to create this fun New Year's card.  The background numbers paper, is digital paper as well.

Lots of glitter was strategically added to the streamers, the champagne glasses, the burst of champagne, and the year.

I adhered my focal point to some silver and then gold cardstock and added glitter ribbon for even more sparkle.  To create you own glitter ribbon, take a long piece of double sided tape (whatever width size you want) and add your choice of glitter to one side and then the other side.  Easy, peasy to create sparkle in your choice of color.

Jan's Digi Shop is one of the few digi stores that also gives your pre-colored images.  SO if you need to create a card in a hurry, this is the way to do it.  Add a few of your own embellishments, if you want, and your good to go!

Amine Holiday Cheer

Happy Friday everyone!  It's time for the Anime New Release from Scrapper's Delights!  Here are the three new Anime images for this month "Anime Holiday Cheer, Anime Hot Choc Treat, and Anime We Have Gifts".

The best deal is the Anime VIP Deal Zodiac Bundle. In the  where you receive all three images plus the Anime VIP - Sagittarius image and lots of design elements to go along with the image.

For my project, I used Holiday Cheer. Thanksgiving in the US was yesterday, so I created a Thanksgiving card to send to a friend.  I printed the image onto white cardstock, colored her with Copic markers, and the fussy cut her out.

To create this fun fold card, I used several coordinating dies from The Stamp Doctor (Center Pop Out Card Die, Center Pop Out Card Layers #2).  I die cut the card base from a soft gold cardstock and then added my layers using some old patterned papers.

The sentiment is an older Die-Versions die (Give Thanks) that I die cut twice - once from white cardstock and once from the patterned paper.  I saved the white cardstock die cut for another time and inserted the negative pieces into the patterned paper die cut.  This helps the sentiment to stand out.

Once all the pieces were adhered, I added my Holiday Cheer image to the right panel.  (Tip: make sure the card will still fold once you've placed the image but before you permanently adhere it.)

Be sure to check out what the rest of the team created on the Scrapper's Delights Inspiration Blog and join us on our Facebook Fan Page.  We'd love it if you played along in our Blog Challenge each month.  You can find out details about our Progressive Freebie Challenge on our FB page for even more chances to win free images.

Fairy Merry Christmas {Lavinia World #14}

Hey everyone, today I'd like to share my latest project for the Lavinia World Challenges #14.  I created an interactive card using a Spellbinders die (Festive Wreaths Slider Card).

I used the following stamps from Lavinia World on my Christmas card:

When you pull the ribbon, the interactive card reveals your message.  This photo really shows the texture achieved when the Christmas Eve stamp was heat embossed with Clear embossing powder.

To start out, I die cut a piece of white cardstock using some older circle dies from Spellbinders (Standard Circles Small) for the base of the focal point and created a frame using the same set from patterned cardstock.

Using a stamp positioner, I placed both the white circle and the frame onto the stamping area so I could make sure nothing would be hidden with the frame.  I then removed the frame and stamped the Christmas Eve image.  I used a combination of Distress Ink and Distress Markers to get the colors.  I also used varying pressure on the tree to make it appear lighter and darker in certain areas.

Once I was happy with the stamping, leaving the stamp in place, clean it and then stamp with VersaMark.  Heat set with Clear embossing powder.  Pan Pastels were used for the background and highlighting the star and Christmas tree ornaments.

The same process of placing my white inside piece of cardstock on my stamp positioner and setting the red glittery frame on top to accurately stamp my sentiment and the Dancing Fairy was used for the "reveal" image. I stamped the Snowflakes numerous times, added my Fairy Merry Christmas sentiment and one of the Three Dancing Fairies.
