Exciting News!

I am very excited to share that one of my cards has been published in the national magazine "the stampers' sampler take ten" winter 2010 edition.  This is the first time I have entered a design challenge and didn't know that my card had been chosen until I was flipping through the pages at Barnes & Noble.  Let's just say that those around me heard my squeal of delight.  If you are interested, it's located on page 21 of the magazine and is titled "I Could Never Forget".

Fun with Altered Items

Here are some items that I recently had fun altering.   The first one was a plain 6x6 cardboard box.  I used scrapbook papers, Nestabilities (Fleur de Lis) and ribbon (attached inside the front panel and the top panel) to give it some personality.

The next altered project is my Heat-It gun by Ranger.  It was plain white and I used my blending tool and alcohol inks to give it a really cool look.  This was a lot of fun to alter, but be aware - you will get ink all over your fingers.  (Rubbing alcohol or Purell will help get the alcohol inks off faster.)  So. if you don't like the color of your machine/tools - just change it!

My next project was a black spiral notebook cover.  I used Distress inks, Tim Holtz masks, quilled flowers, and a little ribbon to give it a whole new look.

Lazy Summer Days

Since it's cold and rainly here today, I decided to share one of my favorite summery cards.  100 Proof Press chose to put my card on their webside after I entered their contest where you must use their rubber stamps to create something.  If you want to check out their webside (great rubber stamps, by the way), go to http://www.100proofpress.com/ and then click on the Art Gallery button, then "click here for Samples" button and my card is the second one listed.  I'm not sure how long it will stay there; it's been up since 7/09.  Stay warm and dry.

Brr, it's Cold Outside

Nestabilities are not just for paper.  Here is a layout I made where I used the nestabilities to cut photos as well as tags.  I also incorporated one of my 2009 Tags of Christmas in this layout.  The pictures are from Feburary, when we actually had a small accumulation (1-2") of snow.

Here is another of my 2009 Tags of Christmas.  Although it's hard to tell, the snowman is pop dotted and has distress stickles all over and the background has a crackle paint finish on it.

Tags of Christmas

This is my version of one of Tim Holtz's 2009 12 Tags of Christmas.  If you haven't checked them out, be sure to head over to his blog for lots of great ideas. For this tag, Tim used metal tape; since I didn't have any, I used heavy duty aluminum foil and used spray adhesive to apply to the tag.  I also used Copic markers to color in everything (instead of Adirondack alcohol inks).

Hi, here are a couple of hand made ornaments, using glitter and the Joys of the Season Cricut cartridge.  The clear ornaments are from a local craft store.  I got the idea from Christmas with the Cricut.  These were super easy to make!

This is a picture of a lunchbox card box that I made for my mother-in-law.  On the handle, I also made a birthday calendar list, so she can check the month to see whose celebration is coming up.  Enjoy

Hello to the art of blogging

Hi everyone! I am excited about sharing my crafting ideas with you. Although this is my first blog, I've been crafting (in one form or another) for most of my life. I plan on sharing some of my creations with you, and hopefully, this will inspire you to make your own!
