Now for a bit about my project.

This sentiment, which is part of the Chicken Run stamp set, makes me chuckle every time I read it.

After die cutting my various squares using the Grand Squares dies from Spellbinders, I die cut the top right corner of the smallest square with the Mixed Media dies by Sizzix.  I heat embossed the sentiment with Black Detail embossing powder and I stamped the chickens with Black Soot Distress Ink.

Now it was time to make the sentiment come to life.  I added various glitters in different patterns on each of the chickens to give them  their unique look.  The glitters used were Lator Gator, Jasper Blue, Fiery Fuchsia and Galaxy Night.

I created a border around the edge of the middle square using 1/8" Tear-ific Tape and more Galaxy Night glitter.  A bit of raffia adds the finishing touch to this country style card.

Your next stop on the Nov Reveal Blog Hop is Shona and I know she has created something fabulous!  Don't forget to leave each of us a comment for your chance to win all five of the new stamp sets released this month.

Daisies {Scrapy Land #15}

If you are looking for the Sparkle N Sprinkle April New Reveal Blog Hop, please scroll down, or click here.

Although today is April Fool's Day, we aren't fooling.  It's also the first Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for a new Scrapy Land Challenge.  The theme is Anything Goes, plus use any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.

For today's challenge, I started off by stamping the Daisies image from Sparkle N Sprinkle and coloring it with Copic markers.  Pan Pastels were used for the background and flat backed pearls were adhered to the centers of the flowers.  Once this was done, I fussy cut out the image and added some cheese cloth behind it.

A Sue Wilson die (Spanish Collection - Granada) was used to create the shimmery background.  I die cut this from a double sided adhesive strip which was adhered to a piece of white cardstock.  Once the adhesive on top was exposed, Princess Elsa Frost glitter was used to cover the top.  Then I dry embossed the entire piece with the Basket Weave embossing folder from Crafters Companion.

My sentiment was created from the Die-Versions Love You Express Banner die.

Now it's your turn.  Be sure to follow the theme and include a brand of die that Scrapy Land sells on your project.  You'll have until April 12th and the winner will enjoy a $15 gift certificate from Scrapy Land.

Happy Birthday

This cute pooch from Inky Antics is using his noggin to say Happy Birthday to my nephew.  The sentiment is one of the many stamps from the Simple Sayings set by  Stampers Anonymous.

The image is colored with Copic markers and some Spica glitter pens have been added to the collar and heart.  I stamped the paws twice so I could give dimension to the paws and sign.

Around the edges of the matting, I used the distressed embossing technique.  instead of using VersaMark to go around the edges, I just inked the distressed the edges with Distress Ink (Mustard Seed) and then heat embossed with Clear embossing powder.  The dog charm is from MFT and is covered with Pebbled Copper embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

I bit of raffia and this card is ready to go in the mail without much bulk.

Peace, Love, Joy

Die-Versions new Peace, Love, Joy Cute Cube is paired up with the adorable Reindeer Sweet Petite for this somewhat masculine Christmas card.  Spica glitter pens were used to give a bit of sparkle to the letters in the Cute Cube while three different colors of flock from Sparkle N Sprinkle were used to enhance the reindeer.

Snow White flock was used on his tail and chest(we have both white tailed deer and black tailed deer going through our yard all the time). Buff flock was used for his body and Sparkling Coffee, which has a bit of glitter, covers his antlers and hooves.

Be sure to check out the entire "Tis The Season" new release of 29 dies this month.

Happy Mother's Day

Please click here for the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop post (or continue scrolling down)

The theme for this week's challenge from Pattie's Creations is Mother's Day, since we celebrate Moms in the US on Sunday.  For my Mother's Day card, I've chosen the Roses in a Milk Bottle from Pattie's Etsy store.  I printed the image three times.  Once for the main image, one to pop dot the roses, and one to make a mask for my (very) subtle background.

Spellbinders Grand Ovals die was used to cut the main image out. Once this was done, I fussy cut out the mask and temporarily adhered it on top of the main image so I could sponge my Mini Chunky Chevron template pattern from Companion's Workshop onto the background with chalk inks.  It's pretty subtle in person (which is what I wanted), but not as subtle as it is in the photo.

Once that was completed, both the entire image, as well as my additional rose blossoms, was colored with Copic markers.  I added Orchid Rose and Frosted Carmine glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle to the outlines of the rose petals for an extra bit of bling.  I also created a glittery border with double sided tape and the Orchid Rose glitter.  Moms deserve all the sparkle they can get!

Now it's your turn to create a Mother's Day card and upload it to the Pattie's Creations Design Challenge.  You have two weeks and you double your chances of winning if you use a Pattie's Creations image.  Full details are listed on the PCDC blog.
