Have the Time of Your Life

Hey everyone,  I am so excited for today's project because I have some news to share with you.  I am the new Team Leader for the Anime New Releases by Scrapper's Delights and today's project features one of the new anime releases called Anime Rock and Roll.

You can get the images individually, but the best way is to get the Anime VIP Deal.  Not only do you receive all three of new releases, you also receive the Zodiac Kit for free!  This month's Zodiac sign is Aries.

There are two new releases each month, the Chibi New Release is the first Friday of the month and the Anime New Release is the last Friday of every month.  You can also get lots of inspiration and check out what the rest of the team created on the Scrapper's Delights Inspiration Blog.

I had so much fun creating this card and had just purchased the perfect dies and stencils to go with this image (quite by happenstance).  This cute image was colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut out so the record would show through in the background.  The first layer was created using white cardstock, a stencil from Sugar Pea Designs (Concentric Circles) and VersaFine Claire ink (Summertime). This was then layered on top of another piece of white cardstock and finally onto the orange card base.  The card base was die cut using a Sue Wilson Designs die (Shadow Box Collection-Stitched Square Peg Board).

Next I die cut the record from a My Favorite Things (For the Record) die and wrote the sentiment on the record label.  This sentiment does come with the image, but used it a bit differently.  I also die cut some music notes out of black mirror cardstock from an older die by Die-Versions (Harmony).

I added a bit of confetti and pop dotted the girl's pony tail for added depth.

And finally, here is a sneak peek of the April 5 release.

Be sure to check out the Scrapper's Delights store and join the Facebook Fan Page Progressive Freebie Challenge (just ask to join) and the monthly Challenge Blog.

I'll be back with another fun Scrapper's Delights Zodiac image to share with you on April 5. (Here's a hint: the next Zodiac sign will be Taurus. 😀)

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
 Colour Crazy Challenge
Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge
Happy Little Stampers with Dies Challenge

Christmas Elf {Scrapy Land #96}

front
inside

August is just flying by.  It's already the third Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for a brand new Scrapy Land Challenge.  The theme is always Anything Goes using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.

I've created a cute Christmas card to add to my pile.  I'm (very) slowing beginning to work on my Christmas cards.

The following dies were used to create my Christmas card, along with a couple different stamp sets and an embossing folder.

Die-Versions: Tannenbaum (any of these would work as well)
Elizabeth Craft Designs: Entwined Ovals
Tutti Designs: Dotted Nesting Rectangles

I stared out by die cutting the Yupo paper with the Tannenbaum die and coloring it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush watercolor markers.  All the ornaments and string of lights have added dimension and shine from using various colors of Nuvo Crystal Drops.   The outside edge of the die cut was colored using a Krylon Gold Leafing pen.  I dry embossed the front of the card base using a Crafters Companion embossing folder (Wood Grain) before adhering the the Tannenbaum die cut.

The elf is from a Simon Says Stamp set (Naughty and Nice Elves) and was colored with Copic markers.  He was then pop dotted in front of the Christmas tree.

The inside of the card uses a stamp set from Heartfelt Creations (Noel Sentiments).  This was stamped on to a piece of white cardstock die cut using the Dotted Nesting Rectangles using Versafine Clair ink and then heat embossed with Clear embossing powder.  (If you haven't tried this new ink yet, I highly recommend it!  I only have this Twilight color, but I want/need them all :-). ) The Entwined Ovals die cut was then adhered to complete the inside of the card.

Fish Bowl

Today I'd like to share a shaped card using the Coral Reef exclusive die from Cheapo Dies.

When I saw this die, I thought of an aquarium.  So that's what I decided to to and create.  I found some clip art and created a template.  I fussy cut the template out of white cardstock and then colored the background with various Distress Inks and Distress Oxides (Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, Brushed Corduroy).  Goosebumps Texture Spray by Tsukineko was used to create the bubbles in the water.

Oftentimes, I treat a die cut as if it were a stamped image and proceed from there.  Today's die cut was no exception.  It was die cut from white cardstock and colored with Copic markers and colored pencils.

A Spectrum Noir Sparkle marker gives each of the fish a shimmery look.

Be sure to visit the Cheapo Dies Blog for more inspiration from the rest of the team.

Gumball Shaker card {Scrapy Land #95}

Hey everyone!  Happy August!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for Scrapy Land Challenge #95.  The theme is always Anything Goes using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.

That means there are only FIVE more to go before we hit the Big 100th Challenge on Oct 17!

(We've got lots of great surprises to help celebrate our 100th!! Mark your calendars now!)

For today's challenge, I created an interactive shaker card featuring the following dies:

Queen & Co. - Bubblegum Shaker kit
Taylored Expressions - Banner Stacklets 2 (here are some other options)
Sizzix - Banners 3 (here are other options)
Tutti Designs  - Scalloped Stitched Nesting Circles

To start out, I die cut the gum ball machine from white cardstock and then added a couple layers of glittered embossing powder.  I wanted it extra thick for more dimension.

The pink banner was die cut using the Sizzix banners.  The sentiment banner uses the Taylored Expressions dies and the circle was die cut using the Tutti Dies.  Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers gives the edges of both banners a little extra bling.

Included in the kit are tons of little gum balls.  So you can make lots of projects with this kit.

The sentiment, which is part of the shaker kit, was stamped onto a piece of pink patterned paper using Versafine Claire ink (Twilight) and was heat embossed with Clear embossing powder.  (If you haven't tried this new ink from Tsukineko, you really should.  It's a pigment ink that dries quickly to the touch, but can still be embossed with your favorite embossing powder.  More colors are now on my wish list!)

I had so much fun putting this card together that I created another one.  I used all the same elements except I decided not to do a shaker card.  Instead, I glued the gum balls down in place. I stamped my sentiment with Memento Ink (Cantaloupe) onto the negative portion when you die cut the globe.  Then I added Versamark over the entire piece, sprinkled a little iridescent glitter on top, and heat set it.  I adhered everything together and then added the gum drops.

Now it's your turn to join in on the fun.  You have until August 12 to upload your project to the Scrapy Land Challenge.  We can't wait to see what you create!
