Honeymoon Surprise

Today is the Die-Versions new release for May.  The themes are all about weddings and the guys in your life.

I've created a card for those who like to surprise their future spouse with the honeymoon destination.  I've incorporated the new Sweet Wordlet "Honeymoon" with an older one "Happy", plus I've added the DV Beach Bag to give a hint as to where the honeymoon will be.

Be sure to check out all the new dies released today as well as visiting the DV Blog to see what the rest of the DV Dynamos have created for you.

Dec 25th

Here's a fun tag using the brand new Dec 25th Express Edge and the Holly Sweet Petite from the latest release by Die-Versions.

I started off by adhering some Christmas wrapping paper to a tag.  I then dry embossed the entire tag with a DIY embossing folder created with the Snowflake Sweet Petite.  (Click here to see my post showing how I made my DIY embossing folder using this die.)  Next, I die cut the edge and cut the Holly out of fun foam.  Some Distress Stickles were added for the berries.  To complete the tag, the beginning of my sentiment was die cut using the Die-Versions Little Lizzie font.

Be sure to visit the DV Blog and the DV Facebook page to see what the rest of the team has created with this new Christmas release.  Also, don't forget to mark your calendars for the first ever Die-Versions Blog Hop on Sept 17.  There will be fabulous prizes to be won!

Holly Fairy

Today's challenge from the Digi Makeover Challenge is to use buttons.  Fun and easy.

The snow flakes are my buttons (I cut off the shanks so they would lie flat) and I used Holly Fairy for my image (although she's not in the digi section yet, I'm sure she will be soon).  She's colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out.  I added Distress Stickles to her wings and Diamond Dust to the fur color and the top of the boots.   The snowflake border is from Memory Box (Frosty Border) and Rubber Cafe gems were added to the centers of the snowflakes for added sparkle.

Be sure to visit the rest of the team and see their wonderful creations.  You'll have one week to upload your project using buttons.  If you use a Paper Makeup Stamps image, your prize will be larger.  Check the blog for a complete listl the rules.

From my Kitchen

I know that it's Wednesday and that usually means a new Dude Time Doodles post.  Since there are five Wednesday's this month, we decided to let the Freebie/Guest Designer challenge run for two weeks.  That means you still have time to go grap the free image (Youth Football) and upload your creation for a chance to be a DTD guest designer.

This is a for-fun card that I made using a clear stamp set from Stampendous.  I colored all the little images with Copic markers and fussy cut them out.  Then I pop dotted them onto these small squares created with Lifestyle Crafts die (Nesting Frames 7) and lots of Distress Ink (Gathered Twigs).  The sentiment was cut using Spellbinders die (standard circle, small).  I also added Stickles (stardust) to the salt shaker and Distress Stickles (walnut stain) to the pepper shaker for some added fun.  I really wish I knew who these papers were made by, as I was given these three 6x6 pieces.  (If anyone recognizes them, please let me know, as I would love to get some more.)

Bowlegged Cowboy

The first Wednesday challenge from Dude Time Doodles will tickle your funny bone.  It's all about jokes.  Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is Pattie's Creations and she will be giving the winner two images from .
I went about this challenge a bit backwards (I think) because I researched jokes on the Internet, found one I liked, and then found the perfect Bonibleaux Designs image, Deputy Dave, to go with the joke.  "Why did the bowlegged cowboy get fired?     Because he couldn't keep his calves together!"

The image is colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out.  The background paper and yee-haw "ribbon" are from DSE and I applied Distress Stickles (frayed burlap) around the outside edge and then brushed it inward for a more distressed look.  Everyone knows that a good cowboy needs a lasso to help round up those calves he keeps loosing.  The sentiment was created on the computer and outlined with Spica glitter pens and the card base was cut out using a Lifestyles Crafts die.

Now it's your turn to make us laugh.  You have one week to upload your creation to the Dude Time Doodles challenge blog using the link button.  Don't forget to see what the other Dude/Dudettes have come up with for your laughing pleasure.
