Easter Card in a Box

I have a fun Easter project to share with you today.  All the dies are from The Stamp Doctor and this was so fun to create.

I used the following dies for this project:

~ Card In A Box #2 die set (follow the assembly directions that are included in the dies)
~ Egg Carton CIB (card in a box) Add-On
~ Large Chocolate Bunny dies

After putting together the Card In A Box #2 using Tonic Studios Craft Perfect Patterned papers, I set about getting all my Easter eggs ready.

Sometime back, I published a post outlining where I experimented with photo paper and Nuvo Shimmer Powders and I made a bunch of samples.  I wanted the Easter eggs to be on the glossy side, but not too glossy. I had several pieces from my experiment that would be perfect for colored Easter eggs. 

I die cut quite a few eggs, grass edges, and flowers, all from Egg Carton CIB Add-On set.  The grass was die cut from white scraps of cardstock and colored with Copic markers. The flowers were die cut from patterned scraps. (Love being able to use smaller scraps up.)

The Large Chocolate Bunny was die cut from a piece of double sided adhesive adhered to a scrap of white cardstock.  After exposing the adhesive on the front of the bunny, I covered him with Dark Chocolate Flock.  Then I added Nuvo Crystal Drops (Buttermilk, Sweet Lilac) for his eye. A few Nuvo sequins and glitter around the front panel (Tonic Studios Pure Sheen Glitter - Turquoise) add the finishing touches.

I love using the Card In A Box #2 die set because it's so versatile and can be used for any theme.  I envision using it for lots more projects in the future 😀.

Hey everyone, today I'd like to share my first post using The Stamp Doctor dies and stamps.  I created this fun card using the Coffee Cup Cake Stamp set and the coordinating Coffee Cup Cake Die set.

To start off, I stamped my cupcake, the cupcake topper, the cherry, and coffee mug with London Fog Memento ink as I wanted a "no lines" image.  After die cutting each image out, I colored them with Copic markers.

After the cupcake topper was colored, I stamped the little "sprinkles" on top using Memento ink (Rich Cocoa) and VersaMark.  I added Rose embossing powder to the VersaMark and heat set to create the pink sprinkles.   Pop dots were added to the back and adhered to the cupcake base.  The cherry was also pop dotted for even more dimension. 

Another cherry was added to the center of the mug.  Glossy Accents was then applied to the mug to give it more of a ceramic look. 

I die cut the large spoon from the Coffee Cup Cake Die set and heat set it with Silver Detail embossing powder.  To insert the spoon into the liquid, I cut a small slit with my exacto knife.

The mat was created by stamping the word Enjoy and the cherry randomly over a piece of white cardstock.  Copics give the cherries color and were used to give more color to the background.

A deckle paper trimmer was used to cut the yellow mat.  Then it was dry embossed using a Tonic Studios embossing folder (Simple Stripes).  Then all the layers were adhered together.

In addition to creating the above card, I also die cut and embellished the Card Easel Die. After die cutting from heavy cardstock, I dry embossed it with a Sue Wilson Designs embossing folder (Rambling Blossoms) and then added Nuvo Embellishment Mousse (Burnished Bronze) to bring out the de-bossed areas.  There are so many different ways to make this simple die cut unique to what you want.  I see lots of possibilities 😀!

Scrapy Land Challenge

Now for a bit about my project:

For my celebration card, I created a shaker/pop-up combo by using the following dies:

To start off, I created several backgrounds using various Nuvo Shimmer Powders.  I had a bunch of glossy photo papers laying around and I wanted to see if these would work with the shimmer powders.  I'm so happy to say they worked beautifully.  

I used these backgrounds to die cut a number of the shapes, including the cupcake liner on the front of the card and the party banner, the candles, and the numbers and hearts on the sentiment on the inside of the card.

For Your Wedding Day

It's my day over on the Cheapo Dies Blog and I created a card celebrating a wedding using the Rose, one of the exclusive dies from Cheapo Dies.

To start off, I ran the card front of my card base through my Xyron machine so that the entire area would be covered with adhesive.  (You could have also used a sheet of double sided adhesive.)

I die cut the Rose multiple times and randomly laid them onto my cardbase.   Once I had a pattern that I was happy with, I made sure to burnish the die cuts onto the adhesive using the piece of release paper created from running this through my Xyron.

Next, I covered the entire front with Waterscape glitter and burnished it into the exposed adhesive with my fingertip. 

The sentiment (from the stamp set Ornate Greetings by Sparkle N Sprinkle) was stamped with Distress Oxide (Peacock Feathers) and heat embossed with Clear embossing powder.  A strip of coordinating ribbon was adhered to the card front and then the sentiment on top of that.  Since the ribbon itself is dimensional, this gave the sentiment an added lift without having to use pop dots.

Hey everyone, wouldn't you like to go on vacation to some tropical island? Today I've created card depicting this vacation getaway.  It  uses the Palm Trees exclusive dies from Cheapo Dies.

I started out by creating the background using Yupo paper and Nuvo Shimmer Powders (Blue Blitz, Violet Brocade, Catherine Wheel).  The photos don't do justice to these powders - they are SO shimmery in person!  I set that aside to dry and began working on the focal point.

I die cut the Palm Trees three times (in black, dark green, and orange cardstocks) and then paper pieced the colored cardstock back into the silhouette.

The sentiment is from the Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp set called Leafy Flourish and  was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with White Detail embossing powder.

The final touch was to add a few Nuvo Jewel Drops (Sea Breeze) to the card base.

This was a quick card to put together but I think it gives quite a punch of color and definitely makes me wish I could take a vacation in the tropics.

Flying Monkeys

Hey everyone!   I created a fun Halloween card using the Monkey Barrel die from the exclusive line from Cheapo Dies.  I was going through my stamps and thought this would be the perfect sentiment to go along with this die. :-)

I die cut the monkey from this seven piece set multiple times and from various pieces of cardstock.  The rings of the barrel were die cut from some adhesive backed glitter paper I had.

The stamp set I used is Witching Hour by Sparkle N Sprinkle.  Using the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform, I stamped the sentiment and the witch using VersaMark and then added Ebony Spark embossing powder to the witch and Clear embossing powder to the sentiment.  The platform allowed me to position the witch perfectly between the barrel and the monkeys (all of which I had already adhered to my card.  Normally I stamp first and then add my die cuts, but because I wanted the spacing just so, I did it opposite of what I normally do 😊).

Impossible Card Kimono

Today I'm trying my hand at an "Impossible Card", which is so popular at the moment.  They are really easy to create and you can find tutorials all over the internet.  I used the one from SplitCoast Stampers.

I used the new Kimono die from Cheapo Dies and followed the guidelines for the second card shone on the tutorial.

Once everything was ready, I colored the Kimono with Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers and adhered patterned paper to my card base.

The sentiment is an older rubber stamp from Sparkle N Sprinkle (Leaf Robe) and was stamped with Versacolor ink (Lagoon Blue).  For a little added dimension, I heat embossed it with Clear embossing powder.

This was so easy to make that I'll definitely be making more in the future.

Geisha Girl

Today's project uses the Geisha die and is embellished with some negative pieces left over from one of my Fan die projects. Both of these dies are from Cheapo Dies.

I began by die cutting the Geisha from white cardstock and then applying VersaMark over the entire die cut and heat embossing it with Gilded Ivory embossing powder.

The crane was given a bit of color from Nuvo Embellishment Mousse (Indian Gold).  Nuvo Sequins (Vanilla Delight) were added here and there for added eye candy 😀.

The sentiment was given a bit of extra bling by coloring the letters with a Spica glitter pen (Lavender).

Red Kimono

For today's project, I've combined two of the new Exclusive dies from Cheapo Dies: Kimono and some of the negative pieces from the Fan die.

I began by stamping an old medallion rubber stamp from Outlines (I don't think they are in business any longer) with VersaMark and then heat setting it with Gold Detail embossing powder.

Next I die cut the Kimono from white cardstock and then adding color using a Spectrum Noir Sparkle marker (Red Berry).  I love the shimmer these markers give. I wanted a background so I used the die cut and traced around it onto a piece of glossy paper and fussy cut it out.  I adhered the die cut on top of the cut out.

The four corners of the card base are embellished with pieces from the Fan that was die cut for an earlier project.  I used some of the dots as well as portions of the fan pieces at the bottom.
