Let the Music Play {Fairy Stamper}

Today I'm sharing a new project created for Fairy Stamper using Fairy Hugs stamps, Fairy Hugs Glitter Powders, and several dies.

I also used a Sue Wilson Designs die set (Noble dies - Double Pierced Rectangles, Set B) and the Queen & Co. die set (Suitcase Gift Card Box).

I stamped both Wilwin and Corwin (the gnome playing the sax) and then fussy cut them out. Once that step was completed, I carefully added Raven glitter to both, trying to make sure the defining accent lines were still able to be seen.

Next I die cut my mats using the Sue Wilson die set and I added Raven glitter to the second one for more sparkle.

For the suitcase, I decided to keep it flat instead of creating a box. This made it easier to mail. The accent pieces of the suitcase were covered in Pixie Dust glitter for even more bling. A gem at the closing piece of the suitcase adds the final touch.

Come join our Fairy Stamper Facebook group to see all the latest inspiration from the design team and from the members.  This is YOUR group where you can ask questions, get inspired, and share your projects with us!

Sky's Sweet Music {Lavinia World Challenges #30}

A new Lavinia World Challenges begins today.  The theme is Anything Goes using a stamped image.

For my project, I created this sweet scene using the following products, all of which can be found at Lavinia World:

Fairy Hugs Glitter Powder (Golden Nugget, Iris)
We Are 3 Digital Paper (Watercolor Batik)

I began this slimline card by stamping the Fairy Lantern stamp three times using various colors of ink cubes. Then I began to add color to the (originally) white cardstock using Pan Pastels. I created a few hills using a torn piece of paper and then continued the rest of the background using purples and blues.

I added a bit of bling to the lanterns using Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers and gems from Queen and Co.

I wanted to show the inside of Sky's wings as well as the outside.  In order to achieve this look, I stamped her twice onto a scrap of white cardstock and fussy cut her out.  On the second one, I only fussy cut out the wings, as that's all I needed.

Next I added glue and Golden Nugget Fairy Hugs Glitter Powder to the "inside" portion of her wings and Iris Fairy Hugs Glitter Powder to other set of wings that I fussy cut out.  (I 💖LOVE💖 this new glitter!) I let both sets of wings dry completely before going to the next step.

While the glue was drying, I decided I didn't like the stark contrast of the white edges that were left from the very fine details of the image.  So I added a bit of grey Pan Pastel so that Sky would blend in better with the evening scene I was trying to create.

Once the glue was dry on the wings, I added a pop dot at the base of the "outside" wing and adhered it over (and slightly offset) from the main image. Now you can see her two-toned wings 😀.

I also wanted her to have a bit of dimension.  When adhering her to the background, I added a small pop dot to the back of her head and to the back of the bird. I think this small detail really makes it look as if she's sitting among the Fairy lanterns and not just posed in front of them.

The focal piece was adhered to the newly added digital papers that Lavinia World is now carrying from We Are 3.  I used one of the Watercolor Batik papers because it coordinated with my purples perfectly. I love the fact that you can re-size the papers to whatever size you wish and the designs and colors are amazing.

The final step was to adhere this to the purple card base. I decided it needed a little something more, so I added dimensional foam tape to the back of focal area as well.  That final step gave the card the look I was going for.  I hope you like it too.

Birthday Shaker Window

Hey everyone, I have a fun shaker card to share with you today.  I used the Queen and Co. Birthday Squares Bundle die set and added sparkles and sprinkles to the various windows.  Although it is sold out when I last checked, I think it's such a versatile set to have and could be used for almost any occasion.

This was a quick and easy card to put together and the recipient LOVED it.  In fact, they couldn't quit shaking it. 😂

I heat embossed the stamped images, all of which came with the kit.  I also added a little bling using some Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers.

On the inside, I added a Tonic Studios die cut (Retro Birthday) and stamped more of the balloons and heat embossed them.

Until next time.....

Scrapy Land Challenge

Now for a bit about my project:

For my celebration card, I created a shaker/pop-up combo by using the following dies:

Karen Burniston: Twist Panel Pop Up
Queen and Co.: Sweet Treat shaker kit
Sizzix: Bow 3D
Sizzix: Balloons Step-Up
Tutti Designs: Nesting Stars
Tutti Designs: Scalloped Stitched Nesting Circles
Die-Versions: Make A Wish Sweet Wordlets
Die-Namics: Birthday Candles (here are other options)
Spellbinders: Happy Birthday with numbers

To start off, I created several backgrounds using various Nuvo Shimmer Powders.  I had a bunch of glossy photo papers laying around and I wanted to see if these would work with the shimmer powders.  I'm so happy to say they worked beautifully.

I used these backgrounds to die cut a number of the shapes, including the cupcake liner on the front of the card and the party banner, the candles, and the numbers and hearts on the sentiment on the inside of the card.

Here are some close-ups of the inside elements:

 If you followed the Blog Hop in order, your last stop is back to the Scrapy Land Challenge Blog to leave a comment. Or, continue along on the hop until you have left comments for each of our Designers.

Now it's your turn to play along with us and win some of these amazing prizes along the way!

Gumball Shaker card {Scrapy Land #95}

Hey everyone!  Happy August!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for Scrapy Land Challenge #95.  The theme is always Anything Goes using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.

That means there are only FIVE more to go before we hit the Big 100th Challenge on Oct 17!

(We've got lots of great surprises to help celebrate our 100th!! Mark your calendars now!)

For today's challenge, I created an interactive shaker card featuring the following dies:

Queen & Co. - Bubblegum Shaker kit
Taylored Expressions - Banner Stacklets 2 (here are some other options)
Sizzix - Banners 3 (here are other options)
Tutti Designs  - Scalloped Stitched Nesting Circles

To start out, I die cut the gum ball machine from white cardstock and then added a couple layers of glittered embossing powder.  I wanted it extra thick for more dimension.

The pink banner was die cut using the Sizzix banners.  The sentiment banner uses the Taylored Expressions dies and the circle was die cut using the Tutti Dies.  Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers gives the edges of both banners a little extra bling.

Included in the kit are tons of little gum balls.  So you can make lots of projects with this kit.

The sentiment, which is part of the shaker kit, was stamped onto a piece of pink patterned paper using Versafine Claire ink (Twilight) and was heat embossed with Clear embossing powder.  (If you haven't tried this new ink from Tsukineko, you really should.  It's a pigment ink that dries quickly to the touch, but can still be embossed with your favorite embossing powder.  More colors are now on my wish list!)

I had so much fun putting this card together that I created another one.  I used all the same elements except I decided not to do a shaker card.  Instead, I glued the gum balls down in place. I stamped my sentiment with Memento Ink (Cantaloupe) onto the negative portion when you die cut the globe.  Then I added Versamark over the entire piece, sprinkled a little iridescent glitter on top, and heat set it.  I adhered everything together and then added the gum drops.

Now it's your turn to join in on the fun.  You have until August 12 to upload your project to the Scrapy Land Challenge.  We can't wait to see what you create!
