Joy of Christmas {Dies R Us}

 

Hey everyone! I'm up on the DRU Inspiration Blog today and I'm sharing a Christmas card I created. It's never too early to start working on your Christmas cards. 😄

I've used the following dies from Tutti Designs to create this project:

Tutti Designs: Joy

Tutti Designs: Candy Canes

Tutti Designs: Cross Stitched Nesting Ovals

Tutti Designs: Have A Merry Christmas (any of these would work as well)

Tutti Designs: Dotted Nesting Rectangles

I always struggle wit white on white cards, so I wanted to challenge myself for today's project.

I started out by creating some sparkly cardstock from a scrap of plain white. I added VersaMark all over and then heat embossed it with sparkly clear embossing powder.

Next I die cut the JOY letters and the Candy Cane from this piece.

I also die cut the JOY letters two more times and the Candy Cane one additional time from white cardstock. I wanted to give added dimension to all of these pieces and this is the easiest way to do it when you have intricate die cuts.

I also die cut the oval and the rectangle out of plain whie cardstock. I then ran the rectangle through an embossing folder.

The final die cut piece was my sentiment for the inside of my card.

This is what the inside looks like after I adhered the die cut.

Once everything was die cut and the layers glued together, the last part is the assembly of the card. I added dimensional tape tot the dry embossed rectangle before adhering it to the card base. Next I adhered the Candy Cane to the oval. 

I knew that I wanted these pieces to overhang the rectangle a bit, so I figured out where I wanted them to be before adhering.

Hey everyone, I'm up today on the DRU Inspiration Blog.  Since it's St. Patrick's Day today, I wanted to share a cute card with you.

Now for more info about my card.  I used the following products from Dies R Us: 

Tutti Designs: Pot O Gold

Tutti Designs: Cross Stitch Banners

Fairy Hugs Glitter Powder: Shamrock

To start off, I die cut the next to largest banner twice, once from a dark shade of green cardstock and once from a lighter shade of green.

Next, using the shamrock die from the Pot o Gold die set, I cut out several shamrocks from the lighter color cardstock. I wanted to use the negative space for today's project, so save those shamrocks for a future project. I then adhered the two banners together. 

I had a cute little St Patrick's Day stamp set that I used for the front of the card. After stamping the image, I fussy cut it out and colored it with Copic markers.  I added Fairy Hugs  Shamrock glitter to the shamrocks on his blanket.

I wanted a bit more bling, so I die cut the largest banner from white cardstock and added more of the Shamrock glitter to the edges.

While die cutting this last piece the negative portion from the die cut gave me the idea of using it for my sentiment. So I flipped it over to create a space below my focal point.

Pot O'Gold {DRU Inspiration}

Tutti Designs: Slimline Houndstooth Background

This slimline card is a quick and easy card to make. I started out by die cutting the shamrock in both gold matte mirrored cardstock and green cardstock.  The pot was die cut twice, once in the same shade of green as the shamrocks and once in the gold matte mirrored cardstock.  The small hearts were also die cut from the same darker shade of green.

The larger heart and the houndstooth background were die cut in a lighter shade of green.

 

Ater everything was die cut, I stamped my sentiment onto the larger heart and then began the assembly. As I said, quick and easy. 😀

Scotch Man (DRU Inspiration)

Hey everyone, it's my turn on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog. Today I'm sharing a masculine birthday card, but it would really be perfect for anyone who loves a good glass of bourbon/whiskey/scotch etc. 😀

I used the following dies from Dies R Us:

Yvonne's Creations: Whiskey

Tutti Designs: Slimline Gentlemen Background

Tutti Designs: Slimline Scalloped Rectangles

Memory Box: Tall Birthday Candles

Die-Versions: Marker Micro

Poppystamps: Happy Birthday Background (any of these would work)

Spellbinders: Sunday Drive with Santa add-on (any small image would work for the bottle label)

MFT: Bitty Birthday Wishes (any of these would work)

As I usually do, I die cut all my pieces before starting the assembly process. I started with the Whiskey bottle and die cut everything in both white cardstock and in vellum.  At this point I wasn't exactly sure how I was going to combine the individual pieces, but I knew I wanted to color the bottle with my Copics. I ended up adding the vellum to the top of the bottle and around the outsides of the glasses to give each of these pieces a frosted look.

The label was die cut from a piece of silver mirrored cardstock.

Next came the small deer head for the label. This was also die cut from vellum.

The Tall Birthday Candles and the Slimline Scalloped Rectangles were die cut from white cardstock as well. These pieces will be for the inside of the card.

I used the negative pieces from Poppystamp's Happy Birthday Background die for the front sentiment.

Brown cardstock was used to die cut the  Slimline Gentlemen Background and then it was adhered to a page from an old dictionary. (If you look closely, it's one of the "S" pages and defines the word Scot and Scottish.)

Be Mine! {DRU Inspiration}

  

Hey everyone, Valentine's Day is only four days away and I decided to share one final Valentine's Day card.

The following products were use for today's project for Dies R Us:

Tutti Designs: Cross Stitch Hearts
Memory Box: Heart Delights (this would work perfectly as well)
Cheapo Dies: Newsprint
Paper Roses: Texture 3 (this would work well)
La-La Land: Love Notes stamp (any animal stamp or die cut would work well)

I began today's project by taking my background mat and tearing off the edges. This was then adhered to my white card stock base.  I started building up my card from there by die cutting all my pieces before adhering them.

I took the individual small hearts that were die cut from the Memory Box die and adhered them to my texture grid by Paper Rose. I set this aside to let the glue dry a bit longer and started on the rest of the card.

I adhered the large heart (die cut from the second to largest die in the set) to the side of the background mat. Next came the texture grid with the hearts already on it.  I die cut my sentiment using the Cheapo Dies font die and placed them where I thought I wanted it.  

At this point, I decided I needed something a little extra and remembered a previous project where used the La-La Land stamp and had two of the images left for a future project. This was just what I needed.

I adhered the cat in the lower right corner and then added the sentiment letters to complete the card.
