Memories

The Memories die is just one of the new Sweet Wordlets from Die-Versions this month.  These are a prefect size for this mini-album page.

I cut the sentiment out of the photo itself, so it has the same glossy finish as the photos.  Inka Gold metallic paints were used to cover the mini-album base and I used scraps for the pages.

Beautiful You

Sweet Wordlets from Die-Versions are so versatile.  For this mini-album page, I combined two of the sets: Beautiful and the "You" from Miss You.

The photo is a bit blurry because it's 50 years old :-).  After seeing this photo, I now know why it took almost two years before my son had any hair - he takes after his mom.  I was 15 months old in this photo, and as you can see had very little hair.

The background is wood and was painted with Viva Decor's Inka Gold metallic paints.  Love the shimmery look they have in person.

Fanny Thanks

Welcome to the Wednesday Inspiration Challenge from Dude Time Doodles.  Our sponsor this week is Graphicat Designs and the winner will receive a Sushi sentiment set.  Here's our inspiration board:

Now, if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, you can also get inspiration from the colors, the sentiments, the animals; whatever inspires you from this picture.

I've chosen holidays and am using Fanny Thanks to create a mini album (from a Maya Road chipboard album I've had for quite a while)  for all those fun holiday photos that revolve around eating (you know, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter).  All the papers are Graphic 45 (Domestic Goddess) and everything is paper pieced except for Fanny's hair, skin and the turkey, which are colored with Copic markers.  The oval frame is from Cheery Lynn Designs.  The rose was created with G-45 paper and the Rose Creations dies from Spellbinders.

You'll have one week to upload your creation based on the Inspiration board to the Dude Time Doodles challenge blog. Be sure to visit the rest of the Dudes/Dudettes to see their take on this challenge.

Copics used: E00, E01, E11, R20    E34, E35, E37, colorless blender    BG0000, BG000, BG10, B0000, B01, T3    V000, V01

Dudeville Holla First Annual Scavenger Crawl

Welcome to Dude Time Doodles first Birthday party and Dudeville Holla Scavenger Crawl.  I made a special project for the Crawl celebration called a Five Star Mini Album.   (I got the idea for this project here.)  But instead of photos, I wanted a Dude parade with just a few (15) of the many images from Bonibleaux Designs.   Each "point" has it's own theme with various Dudes joining in on the fun.  Here is an overview of the entire project.  Each of the images are fussy cut and colored with Copics, then arranged to create their scene.

The first "point" (but it reminds me of a stage) features Frankie Stein holding Jack O' Lantern,  Headstone 2 with Boney Fingers coming out from the ground in front, and Zane Zombie bringing up the rear next to Headstone 1.

Up next is Grease Monkey Mike looking dazed and confused while poor Craig (from Under Carriage Craig) does all the work.

The band is just warming up for the Hillbilly Hoedown.  Hillbilly Moonshine lived up to his name yet again.  Instead of bringing an empty jug with which to make music, he brought a full one.  Now everybody knows a jug don't make music if-in it's full.  So, he decided to empty it by drinking it.  He's sitting out this first set in the back, trying to get his instrument ready for the next set.  Cletus is the banjo playing lead singer, Jethro Jug is backup singer and Skeeter rounds out the group and plays the bass tub.  Of course they're singing "Happy Birthday" to DTD.

Get ready to Hang Ten with Waylon Waves.  He's found a super gnarly wave and he's hot-dogging for all the beach bunnies.

Super Trooper Tripp isn't to happy with Ride Like the Wind Rocky doing a wheelie in the middle of the road.  Wonder how much that ticket will be?

Now for the Scavenger part and all the details.  This will be a circular crawl (like our new release blog hops), so just keep going until you've gone all the way around.

Dude Time Doodles – featuring special guest - Marlene’s card

Special guest – Theresa
Special guest – Shelly
Special guest - Hetty

Each Dudette and special guests will have one item from the scavenger hunt.  The list of items you need to find will be posted on the DTD challenge blog.  Each participant will go through the crawl searching for these items and where you found them.  Then you have two weeks to email Cleota at cmm5569@yahoo.com your answers.  Hint: you will be looking for items that Dudes can't live without (or maybe they can) along the way.  So have your list ready.  One winner will be chosen from the correct entries and announced on the DTD challenge blog the evening of September 6th.  The winner will receive a $20 gift certificate for the Dude Time Doodles store.

What's a birthday celebration without presents? I've got a couple small goodie bags for two lucky commenters.  In order to be eligible, you need to leave a comment on my blog and be (or become) a loyal follower (please don't sign up just to win the prize).  If you already are a follower and leave a comment, I'll put your name in the drawing twice as a special thank you from me to you.  I know several of the other Dudettes and special guests have presents for you too.

Make a note your calendar because on September 1st, Halloween images will go on sale in the DTD Store for 50% off.

Your next stop on the Scavenger Crawl is Michelle.  Good luck to all.
