BooBoo Monster

It's Monday and that means a new challenge is up for the Digi Makeover Challenge.  This week's challenge is to make a Get Well card.

I chose BooBoo Monster from Paper Makeup Stamps (although he isn't currently listed under the digi stamps, I'm sure he will be there soon).  He's colored with Copic markers and all the band-aids are colored with the fluorescent colors.  These particular colors were chosen because, when my son was little, he loved to use the fluorescent band-aids.  So I thought they might make this poor guy feel better too.  For the tears, I added Micro Marbles and the sentiment is written on an actual band-aid.

You have one week to upload your Get Well card to the Digi Makeover Challenge.  The rules are pretty simple and are listed on the blog, but the main thing is to use a digi and follow the current theme.  Don't forget to visit the other Digi Makeup Artists and see what they've come up with too.

Howie Hotie

Are you ready for the new sketch from Dude Time Doodles?  It's a pretty straight forward one this week.  I flipped it on it's side and used Howie Ho Hot Hot from Bonibleaux Designs.  The inside of this shaped card reads "Hope you have a Smokin' Hot Birthday!"

I used Authentique papers for this card cut with Grand Labels One (#4) from Spellbinders.  If you're unsure how to make a shaped card from your dies, it's really easy.  Fold your paper in half and place the die so that one edge is extended past the fold.  (You may want to tape it down so it won't move.  I usually use the blue painters tape for this.)  Run the die through your die cutting machine as you normally would.   Copics were used to color the image, which I printed twice so I could pop dot portions of the coat (the shoulders are flush with the image).  I added micro marbles to the water puddles for a bit of sparkle and the side pieces were made with the Geo Multi Cutter punch from Creative Memories (I've had this for a number of years and don't believe they still sell it.)

You have one week to upload your sketch creations to the Dude Time Doodles challenge blog.  You can flip the image, use as is, or however you want.  The main rule is that the project has to be for a DUDE.

Don't forget to visit the rest of the Dudettes for even more inspiration.

Here's the sketch.

Pretty in Pink

Spring has definitely arrived here and this sweet image and sentiment by Create with TLC are perfect for the season. This vintage image is colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out.  I also added glass clear Micro Marbles to the yellow flower heads and to the water droplets coming out of the watering can.  These beads are so tiny and reflect the colors you've chosen.  Glossy Accents was used to highlight the rest of the flower centers and a touch of a Spica Glitter pen was added here and there.  The quilled rose was created from glossy paper and alcohol inks.

Here's a close up of the watering can and "water".  These micro beads are such a cool effect.

This card was made specifically for the iCopic DT call, which ends April 16.  Good luck to all that enter.
