Guinevere

I've seen so many of this type of design in blogland lately and I wanted to give it a try too.  To create this project, I used the following products, currently available at Fairy Stamper:

Fairy Cuts Dies - Sitting Mermaid (coordinates with Guinevere)
Fairy Cuts Dies - Fish Friends (coordinates with Fish Set)

I started out by die cutting a fairly large scalloped circle from white card stock.  After temporarily adhering the Pods stencil onto the circle, I began blending Distress Oxides (Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China) onto the surface. Once I was happy, I spritzed it with just a little bit of water and then set it aside.

Next I stamped the fish and Guinevere with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and then die cut them out using the coordinating Fairy Cuts Dies.

To add color, I used gel pens, paint markers, and Spectrum Noir sparkle markers.

The card base was created from white card stock.  I used two Spellbinders dies (Grand Squares) and dry embossed them to create the outside frame for my focal point.  Then everything was adhered in place.

This was actually a pretty quick card to put together, especially since I didn't have to fussy cut out all my images.  The Fairy Cuts are great dies and cut like butter 😀.

Until next time....

Glasses Case {Lavinia World #45}

Hey everyone, happy Thursday!  It's time for a new Lavinia World Challenges today.  The theme is always anything goes using a stamped image and the winner will receive a $15 gift code to go shopping at Lavinia World.

For today's project, I wanted to do something completely different. I had a plain blue glasses case in one of my drawers and thought it would be fun to bring some life to.

Here are the stamps I used on my case:

Christmas Tree Group
Stars Miniature

Originally I was going to stamp it and add lots of glitter and different colors. But once I saw it stamped in all white, I knew it didn't need anything else.

This is an easy project anyone can do if you have a glasses case that is smooth.  I started off by cleaning it with some rubbing alcohol to make sure I didn't have any greasy fingerprints on it that I couldn't see.

The trick I found to easily stamp the image onto the curved surface of my glasses case was to keep the clear protector sheet on the stamps and ink it up that way.  This gave me a place to hold the stamp without getting my fingers in the ink.  A solid stamping block wouldn't have worked because there isn't any "give" with the block.

I stamped the trees three times across the case and then added the stars using the same technique as above (keeping the clear protector sheet in place).

Let It Snow {Lavinia World #44}

A new Lavinia World Challenges #44 begins today. The winner will receive a $15 gift code to Lavinia World  and the theme is always use any stamped image (but no digis).

For today's snowy card, I used the following products:

Lavinia stamps: Fir Tree

I also used Nuvo Crystal Drops (Violet Galaxy, Rhubarb Crumble, Dandelion Yellow) for the ornaments in the tree and my die cut sentiment is by Tonic Studios (Let It Snow).

I had seen quite a few of this general design over the Christmas holidays and I wanted to give it a try too. To start out, I die cut the white cardstock and  blue matting using the Tutti Designs slimline die.

I then tore a piece of scrap paper to create a few snow drifts using Distress Oxide and a blending brush. I used a light touch for the snow drifts as I didn't want them to overpower the rest of the scene.

Once I was happy with the snow drifts, I stamped the Fir Tree using the Rain Forest ink pad.  After stamping, I added clear embossing powder and heat set it.

Next came time to place the bunnies. I used the backing sheets that come with the stamps to get a general idea where I wanted them. Since I wasn't using a stamp positioner for the bunnies, I reached for the Fairy Hugs Raven ink.  I almost always get a nice clear, dark impression on the first go around when using this ink pad.

I randomly stamped my falling snow using each of the stamps in the set and then added a dot of Pixie Dust glitter to the center of each snowflake. The Nuvo Drops were added next and then I set aside the project to dry while I die cut my sentiment out of two different colors of blue cardstock.  I offset the two layers to give the top layer a bit of a shadow.

Once everything was dry, I adhered the sentiment to the focal panel and then adhered everything to my white card stock base.

Now it's your turn and I hope you'll join us.  You can either upload your newly created project to the Challenge Blog or you can join our Anything Lavinia Facebook group and upload your project there.

Toadstool House {Fairy Stamper}

 🎉 Happy New Year! 🎉

Today's project for Fairy Stamper was designed for a friend to let her know I'm thinking about her as she goes though some health issues.

The following stamps, all of which can be found at Fairy Stamper, were used for my project:

Fairy Hugs: Toadstool House
Fairy Hugs: Mini Dancing Mushrooms
Fairy Hugs: Condo Dwellers
Lavinia: Fairy Fir Tree 2

As usual, I began with a piece of white cardstock and started adding my images.  The Toadstool House was stamped first in a brown hybrid ink from Tonic Studios.  I stamped it a second time on a piece of scratch paper to create a mask.

Once the mask was fussy cut out and temporarily adhered to the original stamped image, I began to add my fir trees using two different colors of green ink.  I kept stamping until I was happy with my little house in the woods.

Keeping the mask in place, I then began to stamp the Mini Dancing Mushrooms is Versafine Clair (Chianti).  I then removed the mask and added three of the Condo Dwellers.

Next I began adding color using colored pencils and gel pens. For sparkle, I added Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers to different areas of the focal panel.

I ran a strip of the purple cardstock through a Sue Wilson Designs embossing folder (Rambling Blossoms) and gave it a bit more dimension using some Distress Ink over the debossed side.  The die cut sentiment is by Tonic Studios.

Magical Druids Inn {Lavinia World #43}

🎊 Happy New Year!! 🎊

Today is the beginning of a new Lavinia World Challenges #43. The winner will receive a $15 gift code to Lavinia World so you can get yourself a little something that might not have been included in your stocking this year.

For today's magical card, I used the following Lavinia stamps:

Druids Inn
Mystical Swirl
Fairy Hive Set
Chinese Lantern
Versafine Clair: Twilight, Chianti, Nocturne, Green Oasis, Verdant

I started out by creating my background using watercolor powders (Tonic Studios Shimmer Powder and Cosmic Shimmers Vintage Gold) on watercolor paper.  I kept playing around with it, adding multiple layers of color. I made sure to heat dry the paper between each layer as I didn't want a muddy mess. Once I was satisfied, I let it air dry overnight.

Then I began to create my scene, starting with the Druids Inn stamp.  Once I decided that would be the focal point, I kept looking at my stamps to decide what would go best with it. I stamped each stamp in a different color using the Versafine Clair ink pads and a stamp positioner. I let this air dry for a few hours and then came back and added even more color with markers.

I die cut my sentiment from a Pink & Main die set called Magical.  I thought it was appropriate since I love how the gold shimmer color looks like magic dust swirling all around the tree and the entrance to the inn.

My guess is that the fairies are getting ready to celebrate the new year by spreading around lots and lots of fairy dust.  😀

Now it's your turn and I hope you'll join us.  You can either upload your newly created project to the Challenge Blog or you can join our Anything Lavinia Facebook group and upload your project there.

Althea's Friends {Lavinia World #42}

 Hey everyone, it's time for a new Lavinia World Challenges #42! The theme is anything goes using a stamped image (no digis) and the winner will receive a $15 gift card to Lavinia World.

I am so happy to share with you the new Fairy Cuts dies that coordinate with Lavinia stamps.  These dies are manufactured under license from Tracey Dutton of Lavinia Stamps Ltd.

I've used the following products, which can be found at Lavinia World, for today's project.

Fairy Cuts: Mermaid 1 (coordinates with Althea)
Fairy Cuts: Fish Friends (coordinates with Fish Set)
Althea
Fish Set
Lavinia Stencil: Coral

I started out by stamping Althea with a pink ink pad and the fish with a black ink pad.  I then used the Fairy Cuts dies to die cut out each one.  These dies cut great and I didn't have any issues at all!

Color was added to the die cuts using gel pens, paint markers, and glitter markers.

Next, the watery background was created using Distress Oxides and the Lavinia Stencil.  I purposely curled the edges of the cardstock up so that it gave it more dimension.

This focal point was adhered to my patterned cardstock and my sentiment, a die cut from Frantic Stamper, was adhered toward the bottom.

Now it's your turn and I hope you'll join us.  You can either upload your newly created project to the Challenge Blog or you can join our Anything Lavinia Facebook group and upload your project there.

Silver Lining {Lavinia World #41}

Hey everyone, it's time for a new Lavinia World Challenges #41. The theme is anything goes using a stamped image (no digis please) and the winner will receive a $15 gift code to Lavinia World.

I decided to create a CAS card for today's project and used the following Lavinia stamps: Indra and Silver Lining.

Indra

Silver Lining

I stamped Indra using various colors of a variegated ink pad to get different shades. I did stamp the image multiple times, but each time I used a different section of the ink pad.  I kept stamping until I was happy with the color combination.

Next, i colored the image with colored pencils and added Fairy Hugs Glitter Powder (Arctic) to her wings and Raven glitter powder to her eyes.  Here is a close up so you can see the sparkle better,

I stamped the sentiment with Gold ink and then heat embossed it with Clear embossing powder.  I die cut the sentiment using a Tutti Designs die (Cross Stitch Nesting Banners)

I used a gold paint pen to outline the edges of the card and my sentiment and adhered both to a larger piece of dark purple cardstock.  As a finishing touch, Tonic Studios sequins were added here and there.

Now it's your turn and I hope you'll join us.  You can either upload your newly created project to the Challenge Blog or you can join our Anything Lavinia Facebook group and upload your project there.

Luna's Pod {Fairy Stamper}

Hey everyone, it's Monday so that means it's time to share a new Fairy Stamper project with you. For today's under the sea project I used the following stamps:

Fairy Hugs: Luna
Fairy Hugs: Oscar
Fairy Hugs: Net
Lavinia: Mushroom Lantern set
Lavinia: Fairy Buttercups
Fairy Hugs Glitter Powder: Pearl

I used Distress Oxides to create the background and also added Specrum Noir Sparkle marker to give the water a shimmer effect. Then I began stamping the background stamps.  I stamped Luna multiple times in both black and a grey and fussy cut each one out for easy layering.

I added glitter to the mushroom lanterns and the buttercups and highlighted Oscar's tentacles with a white gel pen.

Fall Foliage {Fairy Stamper}

Hey everyone, happy Monday.  Today I'm sharing a new project created for Fairy Stamper.  I used a combination of Fairy Hugs stamps, Fairy Hugs glitter, and Lavinia stamps.

I started off as I usually do....with a piece of white cardstock.  I used several different ink pads and blending brushes to create the background scene. Once I was happy with this, I stamped the Fairy Door Large and the Mini Frog using black ink. The heron was stamped with a blue/grey ink pad.

I then added the leaves to the tree using the second stamp that comes in the Fairy Door Large set. I stamped the leaves cluster in reds, oranges, yellows, and greens for a nice fall looking tree.  I added color to the tree and door using colored pencils.  For more color and sparkle, Iris glitter powder was added above the door.

The heron was stamped so that he was standing at the edge of the pond.  I highlighted certain areas of the heron with gel pens.

To get that sparkle on the water, I added a brand new product called Fairy Hugs Confetti Glitter.  This is a mixture of different sized particles, giving everything a really unique texture and look.  This confetti glitter is the same color as the microfine Pixie Dust glitter powder that we all love.

Mooch's Butterflies {Lavinia World #40}

Hey everyone, I have a cute birthday card to share with you today.  It's also the start of a new Lavinia World Challenges #40! The theme for our challenges is always anything goes using a stamped image, but no digis please.  The winner of each challenge receives a $15 gift code to go shopping at Lavinia World.

I used the following products for today's card:

Lavinia stamps: Mooch
Lavinia stamps: Flutterbies
Lavinia stamps: Fairy Happy Birthday
Lavinia stencil: Pods
Tutti Designs dies: Cross Stitch Tags
Distress Oxides: Broken China, Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky

This is a pretty simple card to put together. Start out by die cutting the size tag you want. You can use anything to create the background, but I used Pan Pastels for this one.

Next I stamped Mooch, one of my favorites😻. Then came the Flutterbies.  Both were stamped using a black ink pad.  I added color to the Flutterbies and to Mooch's eye with gel pens.

For the card base, I used the Distress Oxides and the Lavinia stencil. I stamped my sentiment and, as a final touch, added sequins.

As I said, pretty quick and easy. 😀 Now it's your turn and I hope you'll join us.  You can either upload your newly created project to the Challenge Blog or you can join our Anything Lavinia Facebook group and upload your project there.
