Hello {Jan's Digi Shop}

Hey everyone, I have a project to share with you today using a digi stamp set from Jan's Digi Stamp Shop called Church Sympathy 604J. Although this set has some beautiful sentiments perfect for a sympathy card, I decided to use this image for a "just because" type of card.  I think the image is beautiful and can be used for lots of different occasions.

To create today's card, I printed the digital image onto vellum and then fussy cut around it.  I added a touch of color to the back side of the vellum, but was very light handed as I wanted my background to show through.

The background was created using watercolor paper,  Nuvo Shimmer Powders, and water.  I spritzed the watercolor paper with water, squeezed powders here and there, and then used my finger tip to move the color around. I wanted to keep the colors pretty intense, so I added more of the shimmer powder until I was happy with the results.

Next I adhered the vellum image on top of the watercolor panel and then added this to my die cut from a John Next Door die set (Square Scene Box).  A bit of twine added the finishing touch before adhering the focal point to the card base.

I die cut the sentiment from black card stock using a Penny Black die (Doodles) and adhered it directly to the card base.

Best Wishes {Jan's Digi Shop}

Hey everyone, I have a quick get well card I created using the Pansies for Mom digi set from Jan's Digi Stamps.  I love her designs and the fact that you get both black and white images as well as colored images.  When I'm in a bit of a rush, I like to print out the pre-colored ones and then add a bit more color and vibrance with Copics and/ or pencils.  Also, glitter is a must. 😃

I designed my card front with my software and added digital paper for the background.  I also copied the flower portion so that I could fussy cut that out and use pop dots to add more dimension to the front of the card.

And of course, glitter was added to several of the petals.

I wanted a little something extra on the inside as well.  I created a rectangle and added another image from the set.  I added more color using some Copics and some glitter to the main flower.

Come join Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges, a monthly challenge which begins on the first Monday of each month and ends on the Sunday prior to the first Monday.  There will be TWO Winners chosen randomly and will have two weeks to collect their prize.  One winner will be chosen from those that submit a project using one of Jan's images and the other winner will be chosen from all the other entries.  Each winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to Jan's Digi Stamps.  So come join the fun!

Get Well Bear {Jan's Digi Shop}

(I have two posts today. Please scroll down to see my Dies R Us project.)

Hey everyone, it's time for a new Jan's Digi Stamp Challenge #11.  I used the digi stamp set called Get Well Bear 3260J, which was released in March.

For my project today, I wanted to practice coloring an image digitally, using only a software package (I'm experimenting with Photoshop). There is definitely a learning curve and I could have printed the image and colored it by hand much quicker than doing the coloring digitally. I've got a long way to go, but everyone has to begin somewhere, right? 😆.

After I was content with the coloring, I added digital papers and other digital elements to complete my project. The sentiment comes with this digi set and I layered it in different colors to give the illusion of more dimension.

Now it's your turn to come play with us. Beginning with this challenge, Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges will become a monthly challenge. The challenge will begin on the first Monday of each month and end on the Sunday prior to the first Monday.  There will also be TWO Winners chosen randomly and will have two weeks to collect their prize.  One winner will be chosen from those that submit a project using one of Jan's images and the other winner will be chosen from all the other entries.  Each winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to Jan's Digi Stamps.

Birthday Buddies {Jan's Digi Shop}

Hey everyone, it's time for a new Jan's Digi Stamp Challenge #10.  I used the newly released digi stamp set called Birthday Buddies (3255J) from Jan's Digi Shop.

This birthday card uses several of the pre-colored elements from the set.  I added digital papers to create my birthday scene.  I also added bits of colors here and there to make it my own. The sentiment is also my own, although the set comes with a variety of sentiments that you can choose from.

Jan's Digi Shop is one of the few places where the digital images come in both black and white and pre-colored.  So, if you want to create something quick and easy that looks like it took you forever, this is the place to shop.

Now it's your turn to come play with us.  Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges is held the first and third Monday of every month.  Winners are chosen randomly and will have two weeks to collect their prize.  (All the details are under the Challenge Guidelines tab at the top of the Challenge Blog page.)

Block Sentiments {Jan's Digi Shop}

Happy Monday.  It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's time for a new Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges #9.  I used the  digi stamp set called Block Sentiments (3250J) from Jan's Digi Shop.

I needed a masculine birthday card for a guy who enjoys hunting, so I chose to print out the black and white happy birthday block sentiment.  My image is colored with Copic markers and then I fussy cut it out.

I decided to keep this pretty simple and let my focal point to all the "talking".  I adhered a piece of burlap to my card base to add a bit of texture and dimension and then added my sentiment.

If you like these Block Sentiments, be sure to check out Jan's newest companion set to this, Block Alphabet.

Eggs-tra Special {Jan's Digi Shop}

It's time for a new Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges #8.

I designed this digi card using the pre-colored images from this sweet stamp set called Cottontail Easter (3245J). I printed the egg twice so I could fussy cut out the flowers.

I layered the solid eggs behind my focal point egg with the flowers and the ribbon band.  After I was happy with the placement of everything, I added the included sentiment.

Next I found some digital papers that I liked and incorporated them into my Word file as well, making sure they were the correct size for the background.

Then I removed the background papers and printed them separately from the egg arrangement.  I wanted to fussy cut out the eggs so that it would give a bit of added dimension to the card.  Even though the added dimension is minimal, it's enough to fool the eye into thinking there is more too the card.  I added the fussy cut flowers on top of the main egg and added a bit of glitter to the flower petals.

Jan's is one of the few digi shops that I know of that also give you beautifully pre-colored images.  It's a great way to create a quick card and add a few touches here and there to make it your own 😀.

For You {Jan's Digi Shop}

It's the first Monday of February and that means it's time for a new Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges #7.

I have a new project featuring this digi stamp set from Jan's Digi Shop called TSF Key (3220J)  100% of the proceeds from the sale of this set will go to help out the Turner Syndrome Foundation. (You can read more about this and enter our Turner Syndrome Blog Hop - of which Jan is one of the wonderful sponsors here. )

I started out with the pre-colored version.  I flipped the key using a software package and added the butterfly.  The light blue and blue/brown patterned papers are also digital papers.

After printing everything out, I "made it my own" by adding metallic color to the key and adding a bit more shading to the ribbon.  And of course, I added glitter to the ribbon, flowers, and butterfly wings.

The sentiment was die cut using an Altenew die set (Envelope Liner die).  It was die cut twice from fun foam and then layered on top of each other for a shadow effect.  The fun foam automatically gives it added dimension.

I then added a bit of dimensional tape to the back of my focal point, adhered a piece of ribbon to a larger piece of yellow patterned cardstock, and then adhered my focal point. A few gemstones adds the finishing touches.

Puttin' On The Ritz {Jan's Digi Shop}

Happy Monday!  Time for a new Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges #6.  I have a new project featuring this digi stamp set from Jan's Digi Shop called Puttin' On The Ritz 3225J.

I printed the digi image and the sentiment from my computer onto white cardstock and colored him with Copic markers.  I added a bit of Wink of Stella glitter pen to the roses, the hat band, and his tie.

I deckled edged the colored image and adhered it onto a die cut frame from Penny Black (Lovely Border).  This was then layered onto a piece of bright red specialty paper from Tonic Studios. The card base is black, so on the inside, I layered another piece of the red specialty paper and a piece of white cardstock to write my message.

Jan's Digi Shop is one of the few digi stores that also gives your pre-colored images.  If you need to create a card in a hurry, this is the way to do it.  You could add a few of your own embellishments and your good to go!

Tea Time {Jan's Digi Shop}

Hey everyone, welcome to Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges #5.  I have a new project featuring this digi stamp set from Jan's Digi Shop called Tea Time 3240J

This is such a fun set to use, with so many options.  I decided to create a birthday card combining many of the images.

After designing my card on the computer and using digital papers for my background and frames, I changed the colors of the sentiments to a dark burgundy.  The Brew-tea-ful is actually two-toned, but this was really hard to capture on the photo.  Once I was happy with everything, I printed it out and added color with colored pencils.  Glitter was also added to the flowers.  Here is a close up so you can see them better.

Now it's your turn to come play with us.  Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges will be held the first and third Monday of every month.  Winners will be chosen randomly and will have two weeks to collect their prize.  (All the details are under the Challenge Guidelines tab at the top of the Challenge Blog page.)

Birthday Girls {Jan's Digi Shop}

Hey everyone, welcome to Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges #4.  I have a new project featuring two digi stamp sets from Jan's Digi Shop.  I combined images from both the New Year's Eve (3231J) and Disco Friends (774J) for this fun birthday card!

I love creating projects with Eunice and Gertrude - they are so much fun!!  You can find more of these two fun-loving girls when you click on their names under "Filter by Occasion" (the left side bar in Jan's Digi Shop.)

I used a Sizzix die (Balloons Step-Up) to create this fun fold card.  My focal point and the sentiment, which is a combination of sentiments included in the set, were colored with Copics.  I added Glossy Accents on top of the sentiment for a very shiny look.  Glossy Accents was also added to the belt and their glasses.  The balloons on the right side of the step up are part of the Sizzix die set, while the balloons behind these two are part of the New Year's Eve digi set.  Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers give them added visual interest.

Roaring 2020 {Jan's Digi Shop}

Hey everyone, welcome to Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges #3.  I have a new project featuring two new digi stamp sets from Jan's Digi Shop.  I combined images from both the Happy New Year (3230J) and New Year's Eve (3231J)

I combined a number of the pre-colored images from both sets to create this fun New Year's card.  The background numbers paper, is digital paper as well.

Lots of glitter was strategically added to the streamers, the champagne glasses, the burst of champagne, and the year.

I adhered my focal point to some silver and then gold cardstock and added glitter ribbon for even more sparkle.  To create you own glitter ribbon, take a long piece of double sided tape (whatever width size you want) and add your choice of glitter to one side and then the other side.  Easy, peasy to create sparkle in your choice of color.

Jan's Digi Shop is one of the few digi stores that also gives your pre-colored images.  SO if you need to create a card in a hurry, this is the way to do it.  Add a few of your own embellishments, if you want, and your good to go!
