Pitcher of Flowers

Hey everyone, I have a for-fun project to share with you today.  I used the Pitcher of Flowers svg from Simply Crafty SVGs.

I made several of these to send out to friends.  I changed the design just slightly by adding a handled pitcher to the back of the card to mirror the one on the front.

The file gives you the option of cutting a slightly smaller non-handled image so that you can write a message on it.  I decided not to do this and added a separate note to the envelope.  That way, this can be displayed without everyone seeing what I wrote 😀.

Graphic 45 cardstock was used for each of the pitchers and scraps for everything else.  I tried making different colored flowers (you can see a couple of these in the last photo) but I liked the white ones the best.

I added a bit of bling to the stems on this one using a Spectrum Noir Sparkle marker.

For this one, not only did I use some of the colored flowers, I also added thick clear embossing powder to the pitcher before adhering it.  This gives it more of a true ceramic or porcelain look.  Of course, that didn't show up in the photos 😂.

One of the great features is that this folds flat, so it can easily be mailed in an envelope without adding extra postage.

Happy Halloween

It's Halloween in the US and that mean lots and lots of kids in great costumes receiving tons and tons of candy 😄.

I created some treat boxes using various SVG files,  The Jolly Jack Treat box and the Fall Bushel Basket are from Dreaming Tree and the Black Cat Treat Box is from Simply Crafty SVGs.

These were so fun to make!  I know I'll be making more soon 😀.

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a few things I've been working on for Halloween this year.

All of the treat boxes I'm sharing with you today came from Simply Crafty SVGs.  I made the front and back of this treat box glow in the dark :-)

Bunny's Hot Rod

Today I have a quick project to share with you.  It's a SVG file from Simply Craft SVGs.

I used my (mostly neglected) Scan N Cut to cut this adorable guy out.  It was so much fun, that I actually created two of these and my Scan N Cut will be used a whole lot more frequently going forward!  I filled the inside with candy and mailed one to our son for his Easter basket.  (You're never to old to get an Easter basket!!).

It's hard to tell in the photo, but his sunglasses were given a bit of bling from a Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens and his whisker area was heat embossed using Sparkle embossing powder.  The wheels were also heat embossed with Silver embossing powder.

Tent Trailer 3D Box

I recently discovered a relatively new company (at least to me) that creates SVG files called Simply Crafty SVGs.   Although I have created quite a number of 3D projects, I haven't used a SVG cut file before.  I have a Scan N Cut, but I purchased it for cutting out stamped images, not for cut files.  That being said, I rarely use it as I still prefer to fussy cut out my images.  😔

For this project, I did about half and half.  After printing out the individual pieces provided in the cut file, I used the Scan N Cut for some of them but I also fussy cut out a number of the pieces.  Granted the Scan N Cut did the job much faster than I did, it is relaxing to me to fussy cut (you can call me strange and I won't mind).

For the most part, I printed everything in black and white and then colored the various pieces with my Copic markers.

The accent strips on the trailer part were heat embossed using the Glueless Glitter technique.  I first heat embossed with Clear embossing powder and then again after I had applied Merlot velvet glitter.  I wanted this to be extra shiny, so I did a third step and heat embossed on top of the velvet glitter with Clear embossing powder again.  Merlot velvet glitter was also added to the door accents as well as the door knob.

The hub cab and the fender on the trailer were heat embossed with Silver embossing powder.  I wanted the fenders to have a smooth look, so I heat embossed these twice.  Before adding the accents to the trailer panels, I dry embossed the panels with a Crafters Companion embossing folder (Wood Grain).




The string of lights were colored with Copics and pop dotted onto the base string.  Then I added Glossy Accents for a shiny look.  Then they were adhered to the roof (as per the well written instructions).

All of the windows were dry embossed using a different Crafters Companion embossing folder (Hessian) and then outlined with a darker Copic marker.  I used this folder because it reminded me of screens on a window.  Although I am not a camper, I would assume you have the windows open and that you would need screens to keep all the bugs out 😁.

The camper top fits on the trailer bottom so you could put some goodies on the inside if you wished.  As you can see by the above photo, the score lines are visible when you lift the top off.  If this were a gift to someone, I would probably add some tissue paper to cover these up or maybe go over them with a white paint pen.

All four sides are decorated, so it looks good from any angle.  This is the back side of both the tent and the trailer.

I love creating 3D projects and this one was a lot of fun to put together.  Now that I know that I can fussy cut out the pieces (or use my Scan N Cut), I definitely will use SVG cut file more in the future.
