Kitty Wishes {DRU Inspiration}

Hey everyone, I have another cute birthday card that was shared on the Dies R Us Blog today and I wanted to share it with you too. I love stamping as much as I love dies and today I've combined the two.

The following dies were used to create this card:

Tutti Designs - Bamboo Frame 

Die-Versions - Pretty Packages (although this is no longer available, any of these would work)

To start out, I die cut the Bamboo Frame from watercolor paper. You will be stamping on the negative piece in the center, so be sure to save that part too.

Nest, using a stamp positioner and Archival ink (Vintage Photo), I stamped my image by Newton's Nook (Newton's Birthday) onto the negative piece of watercolor paper.  

The image and the bamboo frame were colored using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Watercolors.  The image will be inset back into the frame.

My card base is a piece of kraft cardstock.  I wanted the front to have texture so I dry embossed it using an embossing folder by Spellbinders (Cane Weave).  This dimensional embossing folder gave it lots of texture. 

For the inside of the card, I die cut several of the presents and quickly colored them using glitter markers. You can also see the texture on the inside back of the card front too.

Hope Your Day Is.... {Scrapy Land #116}

I had so much fun creating this interactive card for the Scrapy Land Challenge #116.  The theme is always anything goes using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.  Have you checked out their new website?  It looks pretty amazing.  You can see all the brands that Scrapy Land sells here.

These are the other sentiments I chose to add to my Reveal Wheel:

Putting this card together is pretty straightforward.  After getting all my die cuts ready, I stamped the sentiments with the VersaFine Clair and heat set with Clear embossing powder.  The Newton's Nook stencil is a two piece set and I used the Oxides to create my plaid.  There are many options on how to create the plaids too.  (They even have a guideline on the stencils for placement - if you want to follow it.  Of course I didn't and did my own thing 😄.)

Birthday Kitties {Scrapy Land #114}

Hey everyone, it's Wednesday so that means it's time for a new Scrapy Land Challenge.  The theme is Anything Goes using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.

I needed a birthday card that had to be mailed, so I wanted it pretty flat to fit in a regular A2 size envelope.

Dies used:

Tonic Studios, Tutti Designs, My Favorite Things

I started out by stamping this cute image from Newton's Nook (Newton's Birthday Trio) onto white cardstock and coloring it with Copic markers.  I added Glossy Accents to each of the speech bubbles and die cut the grass using an older My Favorite Things die.  (You can find lots of grass dies here.)  The grass was also die cut from a scrap of white cardstock and colored with Copic markers.

The layers were created using a couple different nesting dies.  The stitched dies are Tutti Designs (Nested Stitched Rectangles) and the small scalloped layers are by Tonic Studios (Mixed Edge Rectangle Layering Basics).  Any of these dies would also work.
