Love Doves {Scrapy Land Challenge #70}

Hey everyone, it's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Scrapy Land Challenge.

We have great news to go along with today's challenge - ALL the challenges are now ANYTHING GOES using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.  So now there is no reason not to play along with us!

For my card today, I created a wedding card using the following dies:

Sue Wilson Designs - Frames and Tags Collection - Rose Oval
Sue Wilson Designs - Australian Collection - Background die
Spellbinders - Opulent Ovals
Die-Versions - Wedding Canopy
Impression Obsession - Love Doves
Jeanine's Art - Garden Classics Lace Frame, Side Oval

Since I was mailing this card, I needed to keep it flat, without a lot of bulk.  I started off by die cutting the Opulent Oval from a matte gold cardstock and then adhered it to the white cardstock base.  I added tulle on top of the oval to soften the entire look of the card.

The next layer is the Rose Oval, die cut from white cardstock. The Love Doves and the Bride and Groom from the Wedding Canopy (I fussy cut them away from the rest of the die cut) were heat embossed with Sparkle embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  Even though these were also die cut from white cardstock, the sparkly embossing powder makes them stand out.

On the inside of the card, I die cut the Opulent Ovals again from white cardstock and the gold, stamped my sentiment with VersaFine black ink, and then heat set it with Clear embossing powder.  The sentiment is from Joy Clair (Wedding Sentiments) stamp set.

I also added two of the negative pieces from the Jeanine's Art die cut in the corners.  The smallest dies from the Australian Collection Background die set were used to die cut a "pocket".  This pocket was adhered (on three sides, leaving the top open) to the inside bottom of the card front to hold a little something extra for the happy couple 💑 😁.

So now it's your turn to show us what you've got.  There are TWO WINNERS,  one random and one chosen by the designers, AND it's ANYTHING GOES using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.  There are over 55 brands of dies (it doesn't have to be the exact die), so more than likely you have at least one of them in your stash.  You can see them all here, under Products.

You have until July 30 to upload your projects to the current Scrapy Land Challenge.  Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has created to inspire you.

It's A Girl!

For today's project, I create a criss cross baby card using some of the new baby dies from Die-Versions.

To start out, I die cut the Baby Border from white cardstock and then colored it with Copic markers.  I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops (Carnation Pink) to the baby rattle and the diaper pin.

The stamped image is by Joy Clair Clear Stamps (Oh Baby!).  I colored the image with Copic markers and stamped the head twice, so that I could adhere it on top of the base.  This added layer gives it a touch more dimension without any added bulk.

For the inside panel, I die cut the Bassinet a couple of times and colored it with Copics.  I layered the top die cut slightly off from the base for a bit of a shadow.  I also inserted a couple of the negative pieces to represent the blanket better.

The pull tab is one of the dies in the Die-Versions Nesting Flowers set.  I cut a small slit in the center to thread the ribbon in and then adhered it to the top of the panel.  Both the pull ribbon here and the ribbon across the diagonal portion of the criss cross card is part of the Baby Bundle crinkle ribbon set from DLART.

The sentiment on the inside of the card is part of the Oh Baby! stamp set and was heat embossed with Mulberry Star embossing powder.  I cut the cream panel slightly shorter than the length of the card so that I could add a stip of the patterned paper to the bottom.  I covered the seam with a small strip of double sided tape and covered it with Bubblegum glitter.

Don't forget to use the code anne15 if you'd like to receive a 15% discount on all regularly priced dies from Die-Versions.  Just add the code when you get ready to check out.

Now for a bit about my projects.  I created three different projects for today's Blog Hop: a graduation layout, a baby card, and a Father's Day card.

 My graduation layout showcases the following products from each of the companies:

   Joy Clair: Oh Baby (congratulations sentiment); Hugs and Smiles (swirl flowers, smile sentiment); Raise Your Glass (Cheers! sentiment)
   DLART: Baby Bundle crinkle ribbon (blue)

I started out with white cardstock and I heat embossed the various stamps using VersaMark ink and Pumpkin and Sapphire embossing powders.  Once these were cool, I spritzed on Dylusions Ink Sprays (calypso teal, squeezed orange).

I also heat embossed the negative portions of the Cap (from the Graduation set) with Black embossing powder for a shine look and added Pumpkin embossing powder to the end of the tassel.  I also cut the diploma twice so that I could add back the negative pieces.  I altered the diploma die slightly by cutting of the ribbon that is part of the die cut and added my own bow using the Baby Blue crinkle ribbon.  Another piece of the crinkle ribbon was added to my journaling tag, which is tucked behind one of the photos.

The boy cameos were added to the top right and left corners of the layout and I created a bottom border by die cutting the We Did It! die three times and adhering it to the bottom.  You can also see some of the stamped images peeking behind the die cuts.

I created a shaker card for my second project and used the following products from each of the companies:
  Die-Versions: Baby Boy Bootie
  Joy Clair: Oh Baby! (footprints); Hugs and Smiles (sentiment)
  DLART: Baby Bundle crinkle ribbon (blue)

After creating the shaker card, I heat embossed my sentiment and the baby footprints using Black embossing powder.  The Baby Boy Bootie was colored with Copic markers as I love bright, primary colors for babies (and in general :-).).  It reminds me of some little sneakers someone had given us when our son was a baby.  I also took advantage of the openings on the shoe to thread my ribbon through it to create shoelaces.

~~~~~~
For my final project, I created a quick Father's Day card and I used the following products from each of the companies:
  Die-Versions: Stitched Nesting Stars
  Joy Clair: Dad's Day
  DLART: Baby Bundle crinkle ribbon (Sweet Dreams - white)
This is a pretty quick card to make.  I stamped the popsicles across a piece of white cardstock and colored them all the same with Copic markers.  Pan Pastels were used to quickly color the background.  I stamped the image again with the sentiment added to the center, fussy cut it out, and colored it with Copics.  The entire piece was then heat embossed with Clear embossing powder.
I die cut the star using the largest and next to largest dies in the set to create a frame.  The frame was colored with Copic markers and the insert was heat embossed with Firefly embossing powder.  Then I adhered the focal image between the outer star frame and the insert.  This was then pop dotted above the line of popsicles.
I added a bit of Sweet Dreams crinkle ribbon behind the stamped images and adhered to a piece digi paper from Echo Park (Beach Party).
I hope you have enjoyed the Celebration Blog Hop!! Be sure to leave comments on on all the blogs for a chance at winning one of the many prizes!
Thanks for stopping by!!
Your next stop on the blog hop is Penny's blog.  If you should get lost along the way please go back to the Die-Versions Blog and the whole list for each day will be listed there.
