Ginko and Kenzie and the Giant Mushrooms {Fairy Stamper}

Hey everyone, it's Sunday, so it's my turn to share a project with the Fairy Stamper Hugs Facebook group and I've created this night time scene using these Fairy Hugs stamps: Ginko and Kenzie (FSH-099) and Dancing Mushrooms (FSH-017). Fairy Hugs Glitter (Lapis) was used around the frame edges. You can find all of these at Fairy Stamper

Ginko and Kenzie
Dancing Mushrooms
Fairy Hugs Glitter - Lapis

To start out, I used Distress Inks and Oxides to create the blue background on my white piece of cardstock. Then I stamped the Dancing Mushrooms and heat set with a yellow embossing powder. I added accents to the mushrooms with paint pens.

Ginko and Kenzie wer stamped onto some white cardstock and then fussy cut out. I wanted them to be flying throught the huge field of giant mushrooms. Colored pens and Spectrum Noir sparkle markers give them added color.

The frame is a die cut by Crafters Companion. I added a thin (1/8") strip of double sided tape around the edges and added Lapis glitter for a bit of sparkle.

We'd love for you to join us in the Fairy Stamper Hugs Facebook group for lots of amazing inspiration from both the Design Team as well as the amazing projects shared by our members. Once you're there,  join in on the Fairy Stamper challenge every other Thursady for a chance to win a $15 gift code to Fairy Stamper.

Magical Druids Inn {Lavinia World #43}

🎊 Happy New Year!! 🎊

Today is the beginning of a new Lavinia World Challenges #43. The winner will receive a $15 gift code to Lavinia World so you can get yourself a little something that might not have been included in your stocking this year.

For today's magical card, I used the following Lavinia stamps:

Druids Inn
Mystical Swirl
Fairy Hive Set
Chinese Lantern
Versafine Clair: Twilight, Chianti, Nocturne, Green Oasis, Verdant

I started out by creating my background using watercolor powders (Tonic Studios Shimmer Powder and Cosmic Shimmers Vintage Gold) on watercolor paper.  I kept playing around with it, adding multiple layers of color. I made sure to heat dry the paper between each layer as I didn't want a muddy mess. Once I was satisfied, I let it air dry overnight.

Then I began to create my scene, starting with the Druids Inn stamp.  Once I decided that would be the focal point, I kept looking at my stamps to decide what would go best with it. I stamped each stamp in a different color using the Versafine Clair ink pads and a stamp positioner. I let this air dry for a few hours and then came back and added even more color with markers.

I die cut my sentiment from a Pink & Main die set called Magical.  I thought it was appropriate since I love how the gold shimmer color looks like magic dust swirling all around the tree and the entrance to the inn.

My guess is that the fairies are getting ready to celebrate the new year by spreading around lots and lots of fairy dust.  😀

Now it's your turn and I hope you'll join us.  You can either upload your newly created project to the Challenge Blog or you can join our Anything Lavinia Facebook group and upload your project there.

If you upload into the Anything Lavinia album, your project must include something Lavinia (stamps, paper); if you upload to the Challenge Blog, anything goes as long as you have used a physical stamp on your project.

You can share your projects with us on the Challenge BlogFacebookInstagram, and our Anything Lavinia Facebook group:

Be Merry {DRU Inspiration}

Today is my turn on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog and I'd like to share a Christmas card that I created.  You may think I made this to send out for 2020, but as I waited till the last minute this year, I vowed to get started on my 2021 Christmas cards sooner.  So this is my first Christmas card for 2021! 😆.

I used the following dies, many of which are oldies, but goodies:

Dee's Distinctively: Mini Stars
Dee's Distinctively: Mini Decorations
Cheery Lynn Designs: Christmas Light Swag
Pink & Main: Bold Christmas dies (Special Order Sale) (any of these would work)
Sizzix: Tim Holtz's Cutout Script (any of these would work)
Lifestyle Crafts: Nesting Scalloped Ovals (these Dee's Distinctively dies would work well, or most any oval die)
Kat Scrapiness: Stitched and Layers Christmas Tree die (Special Order Sale) (many of these will work)
Honey Bee: Plaid A7 Cover Plate-Base (many background cover plates would work)
Honey Bee: Plaid A7 Cover Plate-Top (many background cover plates would work)

I began this project by die cutting out the various pieces from specialty papers and cardstock.

Next I began assembling the smaller pieces - the Christmas lights and layering the ornaments and stars together to add more dimension. Once these were adhered together, the rest of the card is quick and easy.  I die cut and assembled enough of these for a future card as well.😀

Once everything was ready, I created my card base from kraft cardstock and adhered the plaid background down first. Then I began assembling the Christmas tree and adding my tree skirt (the thin oval) to the front. Finally, I added my sentiment die cut from two different companies.

Head back to the Dies R Us Blog tomorrow for more fabulous inspiration from the DRU Inspiration design team.

Don't forget to come join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There's a new challenge theme offered on the 1st and 15th of each month and one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to the Dies R Us Store.  For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.
