Now for a bit about my project.

I originally learned about this fun fold card from my friend Ann (she does lots of fun stuff, but doesn't have a blog).  She didn't name this type of fold, but I'm calling it the Double Box card.  It's super fun to make and decorate. The really cool thing about it is that it folds flat so you can mail it in a normal envelope without having to add any extra postage.  I actually made mine a bit bigger than an A2 card, but it will still fit in a 5" x 7" envelope.

I used the digi version of Halloween Cat and changed the color of the ink to a dark blue.  Pan Pastels were used to fill in the large moon and Blue Raven glitter was added to the body of the cat.  I only added glue to certain areas of the cat, letting the dark blue ink show through for more dimension.  Margarita velvet glitter was added to his glowing eyes.  I also added some Tiger Orange velvet glitter to some of the swirls and to some of the open spaces in the letters using a Sakura glue pen.

The card base, and main box, is orange cardstock and then the panels were covered with purple cardstock and some patterned papers.  The second box was created from the purple cardstock and then a piece of Sticker Paper was adhered to the purple cardstock.  Tiger Orange glitter was added to the exposed adhesive, after adhering the focal image to the front.

Nuvo Crystal Drops (Ebony Black and White - for the eyes) were used to create the bodies of the small spiders on the image and the large spider on the top of the second box.  All of the spiders (other than those on the image) are die cuts from a Die Versions die (Spider Web).  Two of these spiders are covered with Black Suede velvet glitter (bottom left and the one climbing onto the sentiment).

The bat is an older Spellbinders die (Nesting Bats) and he was covered with Night Sky Sparkle N Soft.  (You can really see the furry details on the bat photo.)  The Skeleton is also a Die-Versions die and he was heat embossed with Opaline embossing powder.

The sentiment, which is part of the set, is also a digi version as I wanted to make it larger.  After printing it in orange ink, I used a Sakura glue pen to add glue to each of the letters and covered them with Tiger Orange velvet glitter.  I also added a few squiggly lines with the glue pen and added more Tiger Orange glitter.  Before the glue dried completely, I rubbed some of the glitter off as I wanted it to be more spotty looking instead of solid lines.

You will probably be seeing more of these Double Box cards in the future as I had such a fun time making and embellishing this one.  :-)

Now it's time to visit Chris and see what she's come up with for your viewing pleasure.  Be sure to visit each of the Designers' blogs and leave a comment (it is checked for compliance) for your chance to win all of the new sets revealed this month.

Happy Hopping!

I love the box card idea. The bat looks great with the flocking! I also like that you used colored ink when printing the digi stamps. That is thinking outside of the box, LOL!

Creepily funtastic, Anne! Love all the wonderful flocking, glitter, and EP on all these spooky characters! Typical of a cat - just lazily enjoying the scenery despite what is happening around her. LOL Fabulous card! hugs, de (secret have fun message to you!)

I loved the way you colored the cat and then added glitter. Halloween cats are my favorite but I don't think I would have ever thought of using a dark blue Thanks so much for the good advise!!
