Fanny Fart

It's the first Wednesday of the month, so that means it's time for the Sketch Challenge at Dude Time Doodles.  The sketch for you to follow this month looks like this.  You can flip it or leave it, but remember, the card must be for a DUDE!   DTD is so happy to announce that once again Creative Inspirations is our sponsor for this month's sketch challenge and they will be awarding the winner 4 jars of their wonderful iridescent water-based paint, bling in a bottle!  I love using these paints and you'll be seeing these a lot here at Anne-Made.  You can check out my tutorial on some of the ways I use them (posted here or on DTD's blog), or check out Creative Inspirations tutorial section for more ideas.

Meet Fanny Fart, who obviously isn't afraid that the Environmental Protection Agency will come arrest her for air pollution.  Fanny definitely believes in the motto: "Beans, beans, the magical fruit - the more you eat, the more you toot!"  She's also a matchy-matchy type of person.  Notice how her hair ribbon matches her dress perfectly and the bows on her shoes are the same shade as her hair.  (I wonder if she dyed the ribbon with the same hair coloring box.  Hmmmm.)

Fanny is a digital image printed on cryogen white cardstock (wonderful paper to work with if you haven't tried it yet) and colored with Copic markers.  Spellbinder's Deckled Rectangles Large (#5) was used to cut the image out.  I really wish Spellbinders would come out with more deckled edge dies, as that is one of my favorites.  If you visit often, you know that I use it a lot.  All the patterned papers are from Creative Memories that I've had in my stash for quite a while.

For Fanny's dress, I distressed it by adding some colorless blender to an old wash cloth and pressing it to the surface of the dress.  That gives it a nice looking texture.  Here's a closer view so you can see her dress better.  It almost makes it look like patterned paper, don't you think?  Be sure to do this texturing first, so you don't mess up the rest of your coloring - and no, I didn't learn this the hard way ;-).

You have until next Tuesday, July 12 to link up your creation at Dude Time Doodles.  You'll want to check out the rest of the design team's projects too; you won't be disappointed.

Copics used: V15, V17, V25, V99    Y13, Y15    B0000     C1   Colorless Blender

Love Fanny in purple! She's just too funny for words. Great job on the card and on the distressing. I'll have to try that.
