Christmas Bells {Scrapy Land Challenge #51}

Christmas is a little over two months away and it's never too early to get those Christmas cards started.  It's also time to join us for the latest Scrapy Land Challenge.  The theme is Anything Goes using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.  The winner, which is chosen by the Design Team, will receive a $15 gift certificate to go shopping at Scrapy Land.

Today I'd like to share with you this card which uses a Bugaboo Digi image (Mini set-Christmas tags) and a Sue Wilson Designs (Italian Collection - Umbria) die.

Sue Wilson Designs - Italian Collection: Umbria

After choosing which tag I wanted, I enlarged it and then die cut it out with the Sue Wilson die.   This set is so versatile and each image could also be used as  ornament or a To:/From: tag.  It's a pretty quick and easy card to make and would be easy to reproduce and make lots of them.  The bell was colored with Copic markers and then accentuated with glitters and Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Silver Dreams glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle was added to the lines on the bell as well as the string holding the bell.  Olaf White glitter gives the snowflakes added sparkle and the centers of the snow flakes have a small dot of White Blizzard Nuvo Crystal Drops on each of them.  The ringer of the bell was given dimension by using another Nuvo Crystal Drops color: Silver Moondust.

For the mat behind the focal point, I wanted to have some sparkle here and there, not everywhere.  To achieve this, I lightly sprayed the patterned paper with an adhesive spray and then sprinkled on some more Olaf White glitter on top.  This gave it the random sparkle that I was looking for.

As a finishing touch, the corners and edges of both the card base and the mat were highlighted with more Silver Moondust enamel dots.

Now it's your turn to play along with us.  Upload your project by October 16 for your chance to win.  Be sure to visit the Scrapy Land Challenge blog to see what the rest of this very talented team has created for your viewing pleasure.

What a beautiful job with that digital, Anne. I wondered how you were able to do so much pretty shading on those tiny bell designs. THEN an aha moment struck! I saw the beautiful SW die cut and so that the image was larger in format. How clever - thank you for that inspiration - and for your lovely glittery-sparkly elements, both in the background and on the bell and snowflakes! Fantastic card! xo
