Can you believe it's already the middle of the month? 😊 Well, it is and that means it's time for a new Scrapy Land Challenge. The theme is Favorite Holidays, plus use any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.
You can find the Product brands here and then take a look at all the New Arrivals (there's over 500 of them!)
For my card today, I created a very soft, pastel looking Christmas card. It was really hard to choose between St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, and Christmas. But practicality won out as I send more Christmas cards than both of the other two holidays. The dies I used are as follows:
Die-Versions: Merry Christmas Sweet Wordlet
Memory Box: Flowering Christmas Tree
Memory Box: Elliana plate
Lifestyle Crafts: Nesting Scallop Ovals (you can find lots of substitutions here)
I dry embossed the Elliana plate and then heat embossed it with Sparkle embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle. Next I die cut the Christmas Tree and heat embossed it with Belgian Cream embossing powder (also made by Sparkle N Sprinkle). I then used a few Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers to color the embossing powder. The ink puddled up on the embossing powder, but when I dabbed it away with a paper towel, it left a light, soft color on the powder. And that was what I was hoping for. I also added Nuvo Glitter Drops (Ruby Slippers) to the berries on the tree.
I die cut an oval frame from some older Lifestyle Crafts dies I have, but any nesting oval dies will work for this step. I adhered this to the background and then added the Christmas Tree in the center.
I die cut the sentiment from white cardstock and applied more Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers for a bright pop of color.
Be sure to check out the Scrapy Land Challenge to see which holidays are the favorites of other the designers. Then upload your Favorite Holiday project. You will have until April 2 to join in on the fun. The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to go shopping at Scrapy Land.
