Bonjour {Scrapy Land #73}

Can you believe it's the first Wednesday of September?  This year is really flying by.  That also means it's time for a new Scrapy Land Challenge.

The theme is always Anything Goes using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.

Although my project may look like a card, it's actually going to be part of a scrapbook page.  I'll have to edit this post (or re-post) when I get the page completed.  For the first time in about 9 years, I'm starting to want to scrapbook again.  So you're probably going to be seeing layouts in the future :-).

The dies I used for this part of my project were:

Sue Wilson Designs - Finishing Touches-Spring Foliage
Joy Craft - Eiffel Tower (you can find other options here)
Tonic Studios - Swirling Frame Layering die set
Frantic Stamper - Pleated Dress
Frantic Stamper - Bonjour word die

To start out, I used the Tonic layering die set and cut out the background for the dress.  I dry embossed it using a Cuttlebug embossing folder (Script Texture) and then added various colors of Nuvo Embellishment Mousse (Cosmic Brown, Cornflower Blue, Black Ash, Lilac Lavender, Spring Green) until I was happy with the way it looked.  Cosmic Brown was used to define the edges.

Next I die cut the dress, which comes with three different tops.  I combined two of the tops together and added the sprig of leaves as the design on front.  Black Ice glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle was added to the leaves.  I also created a "belt" using Dimensional Glue and covering it with more Black Ice glitter.

The Eiffel Tower was die cut from glossy black card stock, then dry embossed to get the details.  Finally a layer of Nuvo Embellishment Mousse (Pure Platinum) was added on top to make the dry embossed details pop.

"Bonjour" was die cut twice, once from black cardstock and once from a piece of scrap.  I used the Cosmic Brown embellishment mousse to make it stand out.  Even though the name implies that it is brown, the color is more of a copper or a matte gold color.

The glittery blue cardstock was also die cut using the Tonic layering set and I used Black Ash Nuvo Embellishment Mousse to give a bit of definition around the edges.

The patterned cardstock is actually flocked and the black areas are so soft.  This was also die cut using the same Tonic layering set. The final filigree layer used the largest two dies from this set.  I love all the openings around the frame.

You have until September 17 to join in on the Scrapy Land Challenge fun.  There are two winners (a random winner and one chosen by the design team) and each will receive a $10 gift certificate to go shopping at Scrapy Land.  Be sure to visit the rest of the design team to see lots of fabulous inspiration and styles.
