Pretty in Pink

I've used the Flamingo die from the exclusive line of Cheapo Dies to create this very glittery card.   It was die cut from Double Sided Adhesive sheets so that I could add various colors of glitter to the entire piece.

Once the piece was die cut, I used an Exacto knife to carefully cut off the backing sheet so that I could add the colors one at a time.   Tooth Fairy microfine glitter was used for the body, Neon Flamingo glitter accentuates the wings, Blue Raven was used for the eye and the beak, and Tangerine microfine glitter was added to his foot.  Ocean glitter was used for the water, Parisian Mist for the lily pad, and Candy Pink for the blossom.

A stitched circle shape from Simon Says Stamp was used to create the sun.  This was covered with Distress Oxides (Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey), and then heat set with Clear embossing powder a couple of times.  While the embossing powder was still hot for the last heat setting, I sprinkled some Sunny Daze glitter into the mixture for a bit more sparkle.

The card base was covered with Distress Oxides (Broken China, Faded Jeans) and the bottom edge was cut using a deckle paper cutter.

This was a pretty quick and easy card to put together and can be used for any occasion.
