Butterfly - Turner Syndrome Blog Hop and Challenge

Hey everyone, today I'm sharing a project I created for the 3rd Annual Turner Syndrome Awareness Blog Hop and Challenge that is going on during the entire month of February.  This year there is both a blog hop and a challenge that you can enter for a chance to win lots of prizes.  For more details, please visit Lori's My Turner Syndrome Journey.

I've created an easel card using a Tonic Studios die set (Kit #6 - Butterfly Easel Creator).  After searching on You Tube to make sure I knew how to assemble the butterfly, I found this video showing a reverse easel card and knew that's what I wanted to do.  I tweaked the design a bit, but the basic assembly is similar.

I based the colors for my easel card on the mood board that the Blog Hop designers also used for inspiration:

As you can see, I chose the green, pink, and yellow for my inspiration starting off point....and of course the butterflies. 😀

I added sparkle to the pink butterfly base for added bling before adhering the yellow detailed die cut. Both of these were then adhered to a green butterfly and all three layers were adhered to the green card easel base.

Here is a side view of the easel card. As you can see, I added glue to the centers of each layer so that there is more dimension.  This also makes it look as if the butterfly is taking flight.

And finally, this photo shows the easel card unfolded so you can see the base more clearly as well as the sparkle on the pink layer.

When participating in the challenge, don't forget to include something that you learned about Turner Syndrome in your post.  I didn't realize that most of the pregnancies don't go to full term and that's why Turner Syndrome girls are called MIRACLES.

Until next time....
