Altered fabric tin

Edited:  My altered fabric tin was published in the February 2011 issue of Scrapbook News and Review magazine.

I was fortunate enough to be able to host the Altered Challenge again this month over at Challenge Masters.  The first week of challenges just came out, so you have plenty of time to join (it's free) and play along.

This month, I challenged everyone to alter any type of container, but it must have fabric and ribbon on it  (fabric flowers don't count).  For my example, I chose an Altoids tin and several coordinating scraps of fabric I had (thanks to my mom for her scraps!)

I placed the Nested Hearts dies from Spellbinders where I though they would look best and cut those out of fabric as well.

The final step was to adhere everything to the tin.  I pop dotted the smaller heart and added Ranger's enamel accents.  I also used my Spica glitter pen to outline each petal on the rose of the larger heart and spritzed the entire top with Shimmer Spritz so it was full of sparkle and shimmer.

I think the fabric looks better on the Altoid tin than it did in the quilt and I like the quilt...
