Hey everyone, it's time for the Scrapy Land Challenge #126. The theme is anything goes using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells (and there are over 55 brands to choose from!)
Today's project has a little story behind it. I was talking to my good friend Donna and we were discussing techniques that were harder for us to do. Mine is mostly white and/or white on white cards and hers is Clean and Simple cards. So we challenged each other! She nailed her challenge (you can see it on her blog on tomorrow) and here is my response to the challenge.
I've used the following dies to create this card:
Poppy Stamps: Stitchwork Rectangle Frames
Poppy Stamps: Spectacular Joy (any of these would work)
To start off, I used a piece of double sided adhesive paper, cut to size. I added a piece of cardstock to the backside and used white glitter to cover the front side. I then ran my Stitchwork Rectangle Frames through my die cutting machine. When you get the this die set, they are linked together by small wires. I decided not to cut the dies apart and left them as they were. It made it easier to cut all the frames at one time and it left the spacing between each frame perfect.
I used the same process to create my sentiment. Although everything was sparkly white, the word "Joy" didn't show up as much as I wanted. So I used a Copic marker to add color to the center die cut.
To continue the theme of white on white, my card base is white cardstock. Texture was added to the front of the card with an embossing folder. I then began randomly adhering my frames to the front and finished it with my sentiment.
I really like how this turned out, so I created a second card. This time, however, I changed the color of the card base to green. It always amazes me how one little change can make a huge difference :-).
Now it's your turn to come play along with the Scrapy Land Challenge design team. You have until Sunday, December 1 to upload your project for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to Scrapy Land. We can't wait to see what you create!
Until next time......
