Christmas Candle {Scrapy Land #89}

Today is the first Wednesday of May and that means it's time for a brand new Scrapy Land Challenge.  The theme is always Anything Goes using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.

Since it's not too early to be getting started on Christmas cards, that's just what I did.  I used the Festive Glow die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs and added additional greenery by using one of the dies from a Sizzix set (Tim Holtz - Home For The Holidays).  Any type of greenery or branches would work for additional filler as well. Here are some options.

The candle pieces were die cut from white cardstock and then I heat embossed Sparkle embossing powder to the candle base and Firecracker Red embossing powder to the overlay.  The flame was colored with Copic markers and then given added bling by applying a Spectrum Noir Sparkle glitter marker on top

The greenery was die cut from various shades of green cardstock and then arranged together before adhering on top of the candle.  The bow (also part of this set) was die cut from mirror cardstock.

The card base was dry embossed using a Crafters Companion embossing folder (Christmas Merriment).  This is one of my favorite Christmas embossing folders to use.
