Christmas Bookmark {Lavinia World # 11}

Hey everyone! Today I'd like to share my newest project for Lavinia World Challenges #11.  It's a Christmas card that has a removable bookmark for future use.

I used the following Lavinia stamps from Lavinia World:

Three Kings

Christmas Words

I began by stamping the Christmas Words stamp onto textured cardstock with VersaMark ink.  Because of the texture in the paper, I find it necessary to use a stamp positioner so I can stamp the image multiple times for complete coverage.  After I was happy with the coverage, I heat embossed the words with gold embossing powder.

Using the stamp positioner once again, I stamped the Three Kings multiple times with VersaFine Clair ink.  I then heat set this image with Clear embossing powder.

I die cut my focal point using a Taylored Expressions die (Banner Stacklets 2) to create my bookmark.  I punched a small hole at the top and then added gold cording.  I unraveled the ends to create the tassel.

The next layer is actually a soft gold, which compliments the gold wording quite well.  Unfortunately, it didn't photograph very well.  The bookmark is adhered to this layer with removable double sided tape.

I used a deckle trimmer to trim the sides of both this layer and the dark blue card base.

You did a great job getting that textured paper to cover well. I have trouble with that. I'm impressed with the embossing, too. This is really pretty!

I know I'm so late with commenting, but life took over with a few colds and sniffles in the family so it has been very busy, especially with the grandbabies being sick too. I didn't want this beautiful tag go by without letting you know how much I love it. The gold embossing on the blue background is gorgeous and really makes it stand out. Love it!
Happy crafting!
Big hugs,
♥ Lena
